Here is today's opening race from Aqueduct to get our day off to a good start:
AQU Race 1 Clm $16,000 (12:30 ET) #8 C'Est Qui Ton Pere 5/2 #1 Fuzzy's Story 3/1 #6 Missing Link 5/1 #3 Corcho 4/1
Analysis: #8 C'Est Qui Ton Pere drops out of a $25K claimer where the colt checked in fourth, with the top three finishers in the race all coming back to win their next starts. The winner Always Mine beat $50K starter allowance types on Feb. 12. The colt makes his first start for the Galluscio barn that is 27% winners (with a +ROI) first off the claim. The colt owns a solid pace profile throughout and looked impressive breaking his maiden two back on the inner for a $20K tag where he drew off to win by 7 1/4 lengths. Looks well spotted here dropping in for a $16K tag.
#1 Fuzzy's Story was bumped and bobbled coming out of the gate and chased the pacesetter throughout, unable to catch the winner who was taking full advantage of an inner surface that was playing to speed. The gelding came back with a bullet work since his last outing and fits well here for the red hot Ramon, who started off Wednesday's card by winning the first five races.
Wagering WIN: #8 to win at 9/5 or better. EX: 1,8 / 1,3,6,8 TRI: 1,8 / 1,3,6,8 / 1,2,3,6,8
Today's Featured Race of the Day from Aqueduct:
AQU Race 8 OClm $35,000N2X (3:49 ET) #2 King David J #8 Fiddlers Patriot #1 Executive Search / #1a Gold Vendetta #3 January Gent
Analysis: #2 King David J dueled for the early lead, opened up a clear lead heading for home and held on to win by 3/4 of a length last out at today's Alw-2 condition. The gelding finished behind three of these two back but that was is first go off a 11 month layoff. He looks primed for a good effort here in his third start of his current form cycle and is right back at the same level here.
#8 Fiddlers Patriot was off poorly last out ands recovered to run a solid second in his first try at today's level. Two back in the mud the gelding was a sharp Alw-1 winner in his second start against winners. The gelding has landed in the exacta in 4 of his 5 career starts and still appears to have some upside potential.
Wagering WIN: #2 to win at 5/2 or better. EX: 2,8 / 1,2,3,8 TRI: 2,8 / 1,2,3,8 / 1,2,3,5,8
Live Longshots: These are price plays for exotic players looking to find a couple of extra contenders to use in their trifecta and superfecta wagers. Or for those with smaller bankrolls, you might want to get in a small win-place wager.
Aqueduct R7: #9 Who Needs to Know 12/1 R7: #4 Press Only 10/1
Good luck today!

#3 Keowee Clai- over came a troubled start after she went to her nose in her debut but drew off to win by 3 lengths. She came here 11 weeks later, opened up a 3 length lead going two turns on the turf and wound up 5th only 6 lengths behind the Pletcher trained drop down who went off even money and was coming off a 13 length MSW romp. Trainer Matz, always a high percentage guy, has been extra hot lately and this one will never look back.

#9 Princess Susan M-5 year old mare knows how to win. She visited the winners circle 6 times last year which is twice more then this whole field combined. She is coming off an 8 week break but runs best fresh. This trainer wins at 30% with his runners coming off a similar layoff and he will have this one ready to roll.

SA 7th # 3 The Town Lady (8-1) Put in a good effort getting up by a head in her last, moves back to the grass and into a statebred allowance, should be tough to beat today at a decent price.

Handicapping Picks for 02/18/2010 w/Ellis Starr
SA Race #7
#9 Samantha's Rule - Fair odds 5/2 #3 The Town Lady - Fair odds 5/2 #7 Kristen's Lil Lady - Fair odds 7/2 #1 Always in Style - Fair odds 7/2
Exactas: 9 over 1,2,3,7,8 and 1,2,3,7,8 over 9 (#2 is Wilma Rules, #8 is Powerofvoodoo)
With Boehle, Unusual Strike and Tizzy Retsina all appearing to want the lead from the start and at any cost, causing a hot pace to present itself from which none of the trio can survive, Samantha’s Rule gets slight preference of a quartet for success, the mare likely to improve tremendously off her runner-up effort at this mile turf trip and level last out on 1/13 following a sprint prep following over 5 months on the shelf. She won at this mile turf trip here at SA last March and is approaching that form again today. The Town Lady got up to win by a head on the wire on the main track going two turns last out, earning her 2nd straight route win, both with Sutherland in the saddle as today, so from a ground saving inside post she’s got a shot to get up in tie on the sod today. Kristen’s Lil Lady was 4th in the race Always in Style was 2nd in on this course at this distance on 1/13, and with improving to do 2nd off the trainer change back to Yakteen, and with the horse just in front of her by a nose having come right back to win, Kristen’s Lil Lady can have a big say in the outcome, as can Always in Style, who proved she fits at the level last out and who was coming back from 11 months off so has improving to do 2nd off the layoff not to mention with Talamo staying with her after being up for the 1st time.
