Here is today's opening race from Aqueduct to get our day off to a good start:
AQU Race 1 Md $35,000 (1:00 ET)
#2 Virtues Under Fire 5/2 #5 Diablo's Fire 8/1 #8 Maggie's Prince 4/1 #7 Trackmens Star 3/1 Analysis: #2 Virtues Under Fire came up the inside and made a mild late rally to finish fourth last out, beaten two lengths for the top spot. He was down along the inside on a day most of the winners were coming from the outer paths. Two and three back this guy ran into repeat winners. The gelding drops into a slightly softer spot here tagged for $35K and has the pedigree to run well on a wet track and we might see some moisture in the track early in the day. The gelding is a half to three winners including stakes winner Bobbie Use ($105K). #5 Diablo's Fire is a $120K Ocala purchase making his debut for the Domino barn that is showing a 0 for 5 mark with first time starters. If we go back five years the barn has hit with 2 of 39 firsters. This gelding is owned by Kinsman and is out of the Diablo mare Diablo's Blend, who has dropped a couple of winners including stakes winner Hostile Witness ($170K). This guy is bred top and bottom to handle a wet track.
Wagering
WIN: #2 to win at 2/1 or better. EX: 2,5 / 2,5,7,8 TRI: 2,5 / 2,5,7,8 / 2,3,5,7,8
Today's Featured Race of the Day from Aqueduct:
AQU Race 8 Indistinctly S. (4:25 ET)
#3 Sapphire Sky 2/1 #1 Rightly So 7/5 #5 Ampart Ridge 3/1 #4 Eager Emma 12/1
Analysis: #3 Sapphire Sky came up the inside with a good late run to grab second last out in the state bred Broadway, unable to get to Lights Off Annie, who took full advantage of an inside speed favoring racing strip. The filly looks well spotted here and if the track is still wet, look out. She sports a 7-4-2-1 career mark on off going. #1 Rightly So was the chalk last out, beaten 3/4 of a length for all of it and was caught by our top pick in late stretch for the place spot. She beat our top pick two and three back including the Luv Is Eternal two back at a mile over the main track here. She is a logical threat here for the Tony D. barn, but I am hoping we catch a bit better value with our top pick.
Wagering
WIN: #3 to win at 8/5 or better. EX: 1,3 / 1,3,5 TRI: no play
Live Longshots:
These are price plays for exotic players looking to find a couple of extra contenders to use in their trifecta and superfecta wagers. Or for those with smaller bankrolls, you might want to get in a small win-place wager.

Four Star Bo was a runner up last race and can build off that solid effort against this relatively weak group. Expect him to be stalking the pace.

#3 Kindergarden Kid- well bred 3 year old colt by Dynaformer was in tight from the inside post in his debut going a mile and an eighth on the turf. He handled it like an old pro and after all the trouble came running to make up 8 lengths in the stretch. He will love this longer distance and will romp

#4 Ministers Power- is the only one in here with a race on the grass and he has two including a wire to wire win. He will be a decent price and will prove hard to catch.

SA Race #7
#7 Tribal Justice - Fair odds 9/5 #1 Good Measure - Fair odds 3/1 #4 Never - Fair odds 7/2
Exacta: Box 1,4,7
Tribal Justice likes to win races, with a 4 for 10 career record including a win here at S.A in her career debut. Dropping from the optional 62,500, NW2X allowance level to this optional 40K, NW1X allowance condition he won at one before last on 2/24, he is in for the claiming price today in an effort to return to the form shown in that 2/24 victory, and as he’s run well at 7 furlongs on the main track previously and with a jockey change to Smith for the high percentage Sadler barn, I think another winning effort is forthcoming back at the level of his last win. Good Measure gets the ground saving rail coming off a strong wire-to-wire win around two turns over the track to break his maiden on 3/7, his 3rd career start and showing a nice pattern for continued improvement today, particularly as he was ridden out to victory in that last race and still may not have peaked. Never has not been worse than 4th in his last 8 races, last out missing 2nd by a head and a neck on the wire and only ¾ of a length from the win at this level and routing over the track, taking blinkers off today to help him dig in late and with a jockey change to Garcia which may be the right thing to get this colt to show some killer instinct in the late stages.
