Good morning fellow degenerates. I’m moving my daily selections from the Bet the House thread to here. We are off to a good start since joining the freaks forum posting an MLB record of 10-6 (+ 6.17 units) and a NCAAF record of 6-3 (+ 9.6 units). Here’s a review of yesterdays selections:
3 units Penn st -20.5 -110 W 2 units Western Kentucky -11.5 -110 W 2 units UCLA -15.5 -110 L 1 unit North Texas +6 -110 L 1 unit Tennessee-28 -110 W
Ended the day up 2.7 units.
We cashed Penn st thanks to James Franklin punching it in for a garbage time TD as time expired. With expectations sky high the Nittany Lions need to win and look good against inferior opponents. James has a track record of covering 10+ point spreads as a favorite, and struggling to get inside the under as a dog against the big boys. A win is a win, and it was nice being on the other side of a bad beat.
Western Kentucky made the plays it needed to in the 4th thanks to a strip sack, scoop, and score.
I can’t remember the last time I won a bet swallowing chalk with the bruins. It looks like Dante Moore won the QB1 role with 2 Tds in his debut. Ucla settling for two late fgs instead of punching in a Td sealed our fate.
North Texas was a popular dog yesterday and I swallowed the bait hook, line, and sinker. More of an anti Cal pick than anything, the bears withstood the sweltering Texas heat and dominated this one. I rather lose a selection big than have it stolen at the wire.
Finally, Tennessee picked up right where it left off last season. You have to have the dudes on defense to match up with Josh’s offensive system, and the Cavs didn’t have the horses.
Today’s Selections to follow…Good Luck!

MLB Selections
2 units Boston @ Kansas City over 10 -105
It seems just about every game with the Red Sox is a high scoring affair. Makes sense when you take a young lineup that can swing the bats and pair it with a disappointing pitching staff. Chris Sale is no exception posting pedestrian numbers his last 5 outings giving up 12 runs in his last 22 and a third innings. Looks like a bullpen game for the Royals. The ball will be jumping on 96 degree clear summer day. The kicker…home plate umpire Jim wolf has a 18-7 record (72%) to the over this season.
NCAA Selections
2 units Northwestern at Rutgers under 39 -110
Ahhhh only the true degenerates could stomach watching this one. Northwestern circling the drain after a hazing scandal…check. New head coach for the wildcats….check. Rutgers and Schiano returning an experienced defense…check. 3 yards and a cloud of dust Big 10 football…check. No need to get fancy here. Do not underestimate the new clock rules as this should be the extra boost we need to stay under the total.
2 units Lsu -2 -110 @ FSU
I think the tigers get revenge tonight as they open their season in Orlando vs Norvel and the Noles. Look for this one to be a high scoring affair as both teams return experienced starters at QB and questions in the secondary. LSU gave this one away last year. Brian Kelly in year two has his team bought in to his disciplined dogma and believing. I’m just not convinced FSU has the talent to keep up even with the Maason Smith suspension. LSU has a 71% blue chip prospect ratio. Expect the Noles to play tight with lofty expectations and rumblings of a return to the Acc championship game. Pressure creates diamonds, but I expect FSU to falter late.
Good Luck!

Ended up going 1-1-1 yesterday and lost 0.1 units with the juice.
MLB record 10-6-1 (+ 6.17 units) NCAAF 7-4 (+9.5 units)
The Boston offense did their part putting up 7 runs, but Chris Sale looked closer to his form of a few years ago going 5 innings and giving up no runs. We will take the tie considering the score was 3-0 after 5 innings.
Rutgers handled Northwestern from start to finish. The Wildcats have a long road forward and could only muster a garage time TD. I’ll be looking to fade them again vs superior opponents.
My read on the Noles was simply wrong. LSU was the team that faded late and FSU looks like it will be contenting for a playoff spot. Only concern I’d have is if their depth can hold up over the course of a whole season. Their first string talent is good enough to beat everyone left on their schedule. On the flip side the Tigers will lick their wounds and regroup. After the Tide and UGA handled business in their openers, they are the clear favorites to reach Atlanta and the SEC championship.
Todays picks to follow.

Small correction on the the record with the 2 unit loss on LSU (-2.2 units) our NCAA record is actually 7-4 (+9.4 units).
MLB Selections:
2 units Arizona RL -1.5 runs -120
I’m looking for Snakes Starter Merril Kelly to bounce back after a rough start vs the Dodgers when the lowly Rockies visit town. Colorado is starting Peter Lambert who is his last 3 road starts has given up 10 runs in 14 2/3 innings. Arizona leads the season series 8-2 and the Rockies have a road record of 21-48. Motivation is important in making September baseball selections. Arizona is in the midst of a wildcard hunt (4 way tie for the last spot), and the Rockies have been out of the race for quite sometime. I expect the snakes to pour it on in this series opener with so much riding on the line.
NCAAF Selections:
3 units Clemson @ Duke +13 -120
Clemson find themselves opening ACC play on the road as a 13 point favorite vs the blue devils. In recent years Clemson has looked pedestrian in season openers. The tigers are breaking in a new OC in Garrett Riley and return a talented young QB in Klubnik. There’s good running back talent with experienced starter Will Shipley as well…but the tigers have struggled to find consistent playmakers on the outside. The result is a one dimensional offense that can’t take the top off a defense. Clemson always has dudes on defense and this year is no exception. Duke returns 8 starters on offense and 8 starters on defense. Mike Elko went 9-4 in his first season and has elevated expectations for Duke this season. Lenard returns at QB after posting 33 total TDs ruining and passing while only throwing 6 interceptions. The most impressive stat is Duke was one of the nations leaders by only having 10 turnovers last season. I think Clemson wins this game based on the overall talent gap. Playing early in the season is an advantage for Duke due to minimal injuries. I fully expect Riley to have this Clemson offense rolling later this year, but we might see some struggles early…especially without a known go to deep threat. Look for Duke to keep the Clemson offense in front of them, shorten the game, and make Klubnik drive the length of the field for points. I think 13 points is just too much especially on the road. This game will be Duke’s Super Bowl. Take the points but Clemson wins 27-24 in a tough Acc opener.
Good Luck!

Snakes held on in the end for a 4-2 win. You can never relax until the final out when laying runs in bases! This brings our MLB total to 11-6-1 (+8.17 units). Let’s bring it home tonight with the Blue Devils. Back with more MLB action tomorrow.
Good Luck

We cashed our 3 unit play Duke +13 with ease last night finishing with a 5 unit sweep. This brings our record to MLB 11-6-1 (+8.17 units) and NCCAAF 8-4 (+12.4 units). As expected Clemson failed to throw the ball down field and only converted 1/4 trips to the redzone with 2 fumbles and a blocked fg. It makes me wonder if there’s some bigger issues going with the Clemson program. Duke’s defense and offense looks legit and as long as they stay injury free, they might make a run in the Acc. Yes we are talking football and not basketball!!
MLB Selections:
3 units Atlanta Braves -1.5 Runs -105
The Braves took 3/4 in LA and took a 6 game lead to finish with the best overall record in the NL. After a give up game on Sunday and an off day yesterday, I expect the Braves to jump on the Cardinals early. The Braves are sending one time CY Young caliber pitcher Mike Soroka. This might be the last start of the year for Mike. The Braves will likely take advantage of his lack of time served to delay a year of free agency. I expect Mike to pitch well given the circumstances. The Cards send Mikolas to the mound who has struggled lately. In his last 5 starts he’s given up 19 earned runs in 23 innings. The Braves touched him for 5 runs in 6 innings earlier this year as well. Take the Braves and lay the 1.5 with confidence.
1 unit Astros @ Rangers F5 under 4.5 Even
The Astros and Rangers send their best pitchers to the mound in a match up between aces. Eovaldi returns to the mound for Texas after a brief stent on the IL. Valdez has bounced back to his true form the last two starts after a couple of rough outings in August. After the 13-6 slug fest last night expect run scoring to regress to the norm. I prefer the first 5 option because Eovaldi will likely be on a pitch out limit returning from injury. Take F5 under 4.5 runs.
Good Luck!

When you’re wrong…you have to tip your hat to the gambling Gods and move on to the next one. The Braves grabbed an early 1-0 lead, and then Mike Soroka and McHugh gave up multiple two run home runs in route to 9-1 lead. The Braves offense woke up and scored 5 more runs but the damage was done. If there is a weakness on this Braves team it’s their middle relievers.
The Astros provided a quick death last night scoring 9 runs in the first 3 innings. The Astros are starting to round into for and will be major contenders in the AL.
Our record in MLB is now 11-8-1 (+4.02 units)
Back with tonight’s selections.

1 unit Cards @ Braves take Atlanta team total over 5.5 -125.
With Strider on the mound I expect the Braves to get revenge tonight. Strider is known to give up some runs too, so I’m also a fan of playing over 9. We will side with the safer option and opt for the Braves team total over.
1 unit Mets @ Nationals take Mets ML-120.
After being disappointing most the season the Mets are on a bit of a roll as of late. The Nats have lost 6 in a row and are looking towards next season. The Mets are batting over 2.50 as a team with a tidy 3.66 era their last 10. The Nats are 2-8 with a .200 team average and ERA of 6. Kept it simple and fade the Nats here.
Good luck!

We ended up splitting last night. The Mets gave up a 2-0 lead late as the Nats won 3-2. Braves covered their team total over 5.5, and if you took a flyer on the over 9 that cashed as well. Passing on the small MLB card.
MLB 12-9-1 (+3.82 units)
Tonight’s Selection:
2 units Lions @ Chiefs over 52.5
It’s opening night in the NFL. The Lions have loads of potential this year and have plenty of weapons surrounding Goff. We are well aware of the Chiefs and their fire power. The league wants an exiting first game I expect these two offenses to put on a show. Take the over 52.5
Good Luck!

NFL record 0-1 (-2.2 units) NCAAF record 8-4 (+12.4 units) MLB record 12-9-1 (+3.82 units)
Friday Selections:
1 unit Cardinals @ Reds over 10.5 Even
The cards’ bats are hot after taking 2/3 in Atlanta. The reds are still in the playoff hunt and just took 2/3 vs Seattle. Home plate umpire Jordan Baker has a 16-6 record towards the over (72%). Take the over
1 unit Balty @ Red Sox over 10.5 -105
Balty continues to be one of the best teams in the AL this year on a 5 game winning streak. As discussed previously Boston has a good hitting lineup and a bad pitching staff. Home plate umpire Estabrook has a 17-9 record towards the over on the season. Take the over 10.5 runs
Back with Saturday football selections.
Good luck!

Nice bounce back in bases cashing both overs. The Boston game was 1-0 heading to the 6th and is currently 11-2 Balty.
MLB record: 14-9-1 (+5.82 units)
NCAAF plays will be posted in the morning.

3 units UTSA -14
This game is perfectly set up. Utsa is coming off a tough road loss against Houston returning home. Texas st upset Baylor and still might be hungover from partying and celebrating all week. Everything in life eventually regresses to the norm. I see a motivated and angry UTSA running it up on the bobcats. Lay the 14 with confidence.
2 units Bama under 53.5
Is Texas finally back? Is the Bama dynasty over? Which headline will appear in the papers tomorrow? If the horns can match Bama on the LOS, which i think they can, then they have a chance. Texas has the better QB with Ewers. Stop Bamas running game and force Milroe to beat you with his arm. Saban appears to be returning to bully ball this year. I see this as a hard fought, lower scoring game where Bama finds a way to win. Take the under.
2 units Tex AM @ Miami under 50.5
1 unit Miami +3
Two plays in one with this Sec/Acc matchup. Last year this game ended 19-6. Jimbo and Mario are two of the most conservative coaches in the game. With the losing coach on the hot seat, both will play this game not to lose. I expect to see some punts from the opposing teams 40 YD line today. AM looked better in week one with new OC Petrino calling the plays, but Miami has some dudes on the defensive line that will cause havoc. This is a hard situation for the Aggies on the road, and their 0-5-1 ATS record as a 3 point or more road favorite reflects. I’m taking the canes at home in a low scoring game. Take under and Miami +3.
1 unit Boise st +3.5
I love this game situationally similar to UTSA. The Blue Broncos ran into the Washington Huskies in week one. UCF beat up on Kent state and Plumlie got into some hot water running his mouth. Now the knights fly across the country to play on the blue turf at altitude. The kicker is that Boise is 21-0 in home openers out right last 21 years! Take the broncos!
Good luck!

After a dissatisfying effort on Saturday I took a few days hiatus to regroup. We went 2-3 and lost 5.5 units bring our season total to NCAAF 10-7 (+ 6.9 units).
Utsa jumped out to a 10-0 and had the ball driving at the bobcats 40 yd line. They were held on 4th down and before you know it the game was tied 10-10. Guess some these non power 5 teams just do not have the stamina to cover 2 TD spreads.
With a minute left in the 3rd quarter the score was 13-9 and we were feeling good about our bet. How quick fortunes can turn with a 4 touchdown out burst. 5 minutes later the score was 27-24 and we were beat.
We were correct in doubting the Aggies, but under estimated the lack of defense in Miami. Jimbo is in deep trouble And it’s not because of his offense.
The blue broncos covered the spread, but lost their first home game in 21 years!
Tonight’s Selections
2 units Astros -1.5 runs -145 hosting the A’s
Houston has been red hit of late and laid a doughnut last night losing 4-0. With verlander on the mound and an umpire with 6.1 unit bias to the home team. Look for the Stros to pound the As.
1 unit cubs @ Rockies over 12 -115
Yes 12 is a lot of runs (why only 1 unit), but no number is ever out of reach at cooers field. The Rockies give up a ton of runs, and Flexen their starting pitcher is 1-7 with a 7.36 era and whip of 1.74. In addition, home plate umpire Hoberg has a 18-7 record (72%) to the over this season. I also like cubs team total over 6.5 for those that want to double dip. Take the over.
Good Luck

MLB record 14-11-1 (+ 3.22 units)
Despite their record it seems like the As have a knack of beating good teams. Astros had been red hot but were cooled again early in this one.
The Rockies and cubs fell short of 12 runs. Despite giving up 9 hits Fleen limited the damage to only 3 runs in 5 innings and that made the difference.
MLB selections:
2 units Tex Rangers @ Toronto Jays over 8 -120
The Rangers are on a 4 game winning streak, and a plus +18 run differential over their last 10 games even with a team era of 6.82. Tonight they send Montgomery to the mound. In his last 3 games he has an era of 8.66. The Jays counter with Kikuchi who over his last 3 games is sporting an era of 6.32. The kicker is that home plate umpire Hunter Wendelstedt has 16-10 record towards the over (61.5%). Take the over 8 runs tonight.

MLB record 15-11-1 (+5.22 units)
Not they way I envisioned this game going with the 10-0 ranger win, but we will take the bounce back.
Tonight’s Selection:
1 unit Memphis -13.5 vs Navy.
The Mid shipman were out classed vs Notre dame 42-3 in their opener. They only managed 24 points against Wagner last week in a 24-0 win. Needless to say this is offense is bad. Memphis is averaging 46.5 points a game and their defense has played well to this point. There is some concern with Memphis looking ahead to next weeks game vs Mizzou. If Memphis jumps out early I expect them to run away because Navy cannot throw the ball. If Navy gets a few turnovers and shortens the game running the ball I could see this staying close. With all considered I’m siding with the tigers for one unit. Take -13.5.

Add play:
1 unit Rays @ Balty F5 under 4.5 -125
Both teams are sending one of their better pitchers to the mound tonight. The rays and Balty are in the middle of the playoff hunt, and are both 7-3 over the last 10 games. Expect a playoff preview tonight with a well pitched game. Civale for the Rays is 7-3 with a 2.96 Era and 1.12 whip. Baltimore sends Brandish who is 11-6 with a 3.03 era and 1.09 Whip. The home plate umpire is fairly neutral, if he was more biased towards the under we would play at a higher unit total. The current total 8, but F5 at 4.5 and provides that extra half run. Play F5 under 4.5.

MLB: 15-12-1 (+3.97 units) NCAAF 10-8 (+ 5.8 units)
Tonight’s selection:
1 unit Army @ UTSA under 42
Utsa’s best OL is out with an injury. Their quarterback play has been average at best. Army comes in off an impressive bounce back against a lesser opponent. I see both of these teams wanting to muddy this game on the ground. Both teams rely on the run and both teams defend well. Take under 42

NCAAF 10-9 (+4.7 units)
This weekend has a theme. Usually when there are no marquee matchups and a loaded schedule the next weekend, chaos finds a way. I think today will be no different. Traditional powers might be sleep walking and short road favorites will find themselves in battles.
Saturday Selections
3 unit 2 team 6 point teaser -110:
Florida +12 vs Tenn Miss St +15.5 vs LSU
Sun Belt Billy and the Gators were written off after their first week loss to Utah. Billy finds himself in the role he’s most comfortable in…the underdog. Now the Vols come to town in one of the best rivalries in the Sec East. Tenn has lost to the Gators in the swamp the last 9 times in a row and has dominated this series. Joe Milton has not had enough accuracy to replicate the success of Hooker last year in this high flying Tenn offense. In fact Tenn is one of the nations leaders in running the ball so far this season. We know Billy wants to run the ball and control the clock as well. They Gators have their back against the wall in what feels like a must win for Napier. If this line was still 6.5 I would have bought the half to +7 and played straight. Since it’s down to 6 I’m opting for a teaser and +12 at home.
Despite his success last year, Brian Kelly finds himself being questioned early this season. After falling apart in the second half against Florida st, the tigers bounced back with a blowout vs Grambling. Similar to the Gators, Miss st finds itself and a role they are comfortable in…the home dog. LSU is 1-7 ats as road favorites of late. The cow bells will be clanging early and often. Miss st surprisingly has been a running team so far this year. A vast contrast to Will Rogers 50 throws a game under Mike leach last season. I expect the bulldogs to empty the playbook and give Will some shot plays. LSU will be content with getting out of this one by any margin, and the 6 point teaser gets us over 14 points to 15.5.
2 units Purdue +3 (b 1/2 pt) -125 vs Syracuse
The orange have not been tested yet this season beating up on two cupcakes. Dino has struggled on the road as a short favorite. Hudson card and the boilermakers had a solid comeback win @VT last week. Purdue is 8-2 its last 10 games as an home dog. I expect a hostile crowd to help pull Purdue through in this 7:30 kick. Take the points.
2 units GT +17.5 @ Ole Miss -110
Do not be fooled by the box score last week in New Orleans. Tulane should have one that game vs Ole miss. The green wave jumped out to a 17-7 lead and we’re on the wrong end of a +7.5 bad beat. What was more concerning was the fact that Tulane bottled up Judkins on the ground. Head coach Brent key and the jackets lost a tough opener, and bounced back last week with a win vs SC state. Texas transfer Haynes King is starting to get his feet under himself in this tech system. Last year the Rebs embarrassed the jackets in Atlanta, so expect GT to be thinking about revenge. The kicker? Ole Miss might be looking head vs their matchup vs Alabama next week. Take the points.
1 unit Western Kentucky +30 vs Ohio st -110
The hill toppers have looked solid in their first two games of the year rolling lesser opponents. QB Austin Reed has been excellent through the air, and presents a formidable test for the buckeyes defense. The Toppers are 11-2-1 ATS as a 20+ point dog. The buckeyes have looked average on offense to start the season. With Notre dame on the schedule next week, I look for the buckeyes to get the starters out early and stay within the number. Take the points.
1 unit Wyoming +30 @ Texas
Texas climes the mountain last week when they won as a 10 pt dog at Alabama. After pulling off the upset, how will Texas manage success? Can they be consistent week to week? Seems like a tall task to get back up and cover a 30 point spread. Wyoming is off to a hot start and beat Texas tech at home in week one. Wyoming is returning 16 starters from last season and will continue to improve. I expect Texas to struggle early and pull away late, but 30 is just too much given the situation. Take the points.

Looking to bounce back this week after a rough back to back week in foots
Record NCAA 11-13 (-3.4 units)
Tonight’s selection
1 unit NC State -8
The pack are on the road this week at Virginia. Colandra is statically one of the most inaccurate passers down the field in the country. He makes a habit of throwing it up for grabs. Armstrong and the Wolfpack k won’t have any issues with little to no home field advantage for the whoos. I see this betting tight early and Virginia making some costly turnovers late getting us over the hunp. Take the pack -8
