Last week’s results were brutal. Texas up 34-10 in the 3rd pushed, Gunner Stockton takes a knee at the one walking in to cover, cal throws a pick 6 late. That’s how the ball bounces sometimes. Looking to pull out of the hole today.

4 units UGA@Miss st over 56

Last time these two met the result was a 41-31 Uga win late. Miss st has one of the fastest receiving corps in the Sec, and has been in several shootouts already. Georgia’s struggles in the secondary are widely known. The fact that UGA is one of the worse teams in the country rushing the passer doesn’t help either. On the flip side Miss st’s defense will be exploited my this Georgia running game. Give me over 56 points.

3 units Mizzou +7 vs Tex AM

The Aggies are undefeated, and on paper the better team. Yes that’s right Mizzou is starting a true freshman at QB. I don’t care…Mizzou has its back against the wall at home, and can lean on their defense and run game get the job done. I expect the Aggies to have to fight hard to escape this one with a narrow 3 point win. Give me Mizzou +7

5 units Iowa +7 vs Oregon

Bad situation and matchup for the ducks. On the road in a tough environment with terrible weather conditions. Iowa is going to Iowa, and wants to pull Oregon out in the deep end. Can the Lamborghini run on unleaded gas? No, I don’t think it can. Although Oregon has some great physical players and talent, I don’t think their team as a whole will thrive in this style of game. I think Iowa has a chance to win this straight. Take Iowa +7 buying the half.

James Madison continues to be one of the most complete teams in the Group of Five — efficient on offense, elite against the run, and well-coached. The Dukes have dominated inferior opponents all season, covering big spreads with ease thanks to a defense that ranks near the top nationally in yards per play allowed. Marshall, meanwhile, has been trending the opposite direction. The Herd’s offense has struggled to sustain drives, and their defense has been gashed in recent weeks, giving up over 35 points per game in their last four.play James Madison -13.5

3 units Hawaii +7 vs slam deigo st

Hawaii has quietly been improving week by week, especially on offense. Quarterback Brayden Schager has found a rhythm in the passing game, and the Warriors’ tempo and spacing create real problems for a San Diego State defense that’s struggled against spread attacks.San Diego State, on the other hand, hasn’t shown much offensive consistency. The Aztecs rank near the bottom of the FBS in passing efficiency and have averaged under 20 points per game over the last month. Play Hawaii +7

4* Mizzou/sooners first half under 21.5

Expecting a sleepy start in this 11:00 am local kick. Both teams lead by defense…This is not a good match up for the tigers vs one of the best defensive minds in the game. We just need to fade a pick 6 or multiple turnovers to stay under early.

5* Florida +4 vs Tennessee

Rivalry game and the Vols have not won in the swamp since the early 2000s. Strength on strength game where Gators will match up well on the lines of scrimmage. I see this one coming down to a fg

5* Oregon -6 first half vs USC

This is a bad matchup for USC. On the road vs a big play offense, and Ore needs a top 25 win in the worst way. I see the ducks jumping up early and cruising.

4* Nebraska +7.5 @ Penn st

I expect this to be a rock fight in classic big 10 fashion. I do not see either of these teams getting to far away from the other.

4* BYU -3 @ cinci

This is a bad matchup on the lines of scrimmage for cinci. Their wheels have fallen off, and I expect the cougars to lean on them and pull away in the second half.

Welcome back to a new season of Pipe’s picks. Not a whole lot catches my eye this opening weekend. In the nil and transfer portal era it’s hard to cap these early matchups. I’d like to think unders still may hold some value before offenses get cranking. It’s also 110 degrees in the southeast, so I expect some of these huge spreads will be hard for the big boys to cover.

NCAAF 1-2 -3.6 units

5 units OU/Michigan under 43.5.

This is the definition of a slobber knocker. Venables and the Sooners may have the best defense in the country, and Michigan is no slouch as well on that side of the ball. The whole world wants to lay the points with the Sooners after the Michigan miracle last week. 75% of the public money has come in on Oklahoma, yet the books have kept this line around 5.5. What do the fellas in the desert know that we don’t know? Sooners starting left tackle will be out, so both QBs may have to run for 100 yds to win this one. I’ll root for defense and take the under.

4 units Kentucky +10.5

The first big game of the Will stein era kicks off today. Traditionally, Lexington is a tough place to play on the road in the sec…especially a night game early in the season before Kentucky gets banged up. This will be Russell’s first road start in the SEC for the tide, and I expect the young QB to be up and down. I think the tide eventually wins it, but I see Kentucky pulling off a late back door cover in a 27-20 type game.

3 units Ga Southern +20.5

Clemson’s program is in a free fall. After a humiliating loss on the bayou the tigers return home to host a dangerous Ga Southern team. The writing is on the wall for Dabo, and this is a bubble burst situation. Don’t be surprised if this is a one score game in the 2nd half.

4 units Ore team total over 38 points

I expect Oregon to light up the scoreboard after a hard fought win over Boise at. Meanwhile Oklahoma st has fallen off the map since the departure of Mike Gundy. Their loss last week at Tulsa didn’t look promising. I think the ducks run it up big in a 49-14 type game.

3 units Texas -1.5 vs Ohio st

These teams are identical on paper. The stars will be out in Austin. Ohio st would like to win this game, but Sark and Texas have to win. I think the Bucks will be too Green on defense, and the Will Muschanp factor will allow the Longhorns to pull away in a 28-24 classic.
