ANGELS PROBABLE STARTER: Kevin Appier (2-2, 6.17 ERA). Appier came off the disabled list Thursday and enjoyed one of his best outings of the season. The right-hander, who was sidelined for nearly three weeks with a strained flexor muscle in his pitching arm, survived six walks by allowing just one run and two hits over five innings in a 7-1 win over Cleveland. Appier is 8-8 with a 4.08 ERA and one shutout in 22 career starts against the Yankees.
YANKEES PROBABLE STARTER: Wells (5-0, 2.89 ERA). Opponents are batting .235 and have an on-base percentage of .252 against Wells, who has struck out 31 and walked two over 53 innings this season. In 48 career appearances against Anaheim, including 28 starts, Wells is 16-10 with a 5.36 ERA and three complete games.

AFTER LOSING AN EMBARISING COMEBACK LAST NIGHT I THINK THE METS SHOULD FEEL A LITTLE DEMORILIZED. PLUS OLIVER IS A TERRIBLE PITCHER BUT HE HAS HAD GOOD SUCCES AT HOME.
THE TOP OF THE LINEUP FOR THE ROCKIES HAS BEEN GREAT.
LOOK FOR OLIVER TO GET BY THE FIRST 2 OR 3 INNINGS WITHOUT ALOWING A RUN.
