OAK +5 -1.1

Denver is overrated (That's why I lost betting against them two weeks in a row, o.k, they're still overated.)

They beat cincy and san diego, both 0-3 teams. Oakland has not gotten on track yet, I guess the real question is, will they get on track. I belive they will. Not as good as last year, this team is still a playoff contender. They will show it tonight.

Hello everyone, I just joined today. Been handicapping for a while, heres what I found on this one:
>>>Game Notes: Another classic Monday nighter between these bitter AFC West rivals. Denver had dominated this series but the Raiders turned the tables last year with two relatively easy wins. Still. Overall the Broncos, now 2-0, hold a 12-4 SU & 10-6 ATS edge in the series. Over the last three years though, they are 1-10 ATS at home off a SU win. Oakland has covered four of its last five division games

>>>Play Over - Any team where the total is between 42.5 and 49 points (DENVER) - after 2 or more consecutive wins against the spread, in the first month of the season.
(34-10 over the last 5 seasons.) (77.3%, +23 units. Rating = 4*)

>>>In past games, the underdog covered the spread 29 times, while the favorite covered the spread 7 times.
Edge against the spread=OAKLAND
DENVER is 21-6 OVER (+14.4 Units) when their defense allows 200 to 250 net passing yards since 1992.

>>>OAKLAND is 6-0 ATS (+6.0 Units) after being outgained by opp by 100 or more total yards last game over the last 3 seasons.

>>> DENVER is 1-6 ATS (-5.6 Units) off a win against a division rival over the last 3 seasons

there is more info i can post but i have got to go to class, I'm a student at MSU i will be on later.. this is a tough game , i might play small on this one. goodluck to all.

DENVER BRONCOS -1/2 -100

THIRD QUARTER.

usually the home team always elects to defend if there they win a coin toss.
thus giveing them an advantage in the third quarter.
even if the broncos recieve fist. i still see this as a good bet..

Going with Oakland +4and1/2. I think Rich Gannon will come out with a big performance and turn this team around on Monday Night Football! Plus Plummer is questionable for tonights game.

In what has become one of the fiercest rivalries in the NFL, Oakland and Denver will do battle for this week's installment of Monday Night Football. The Broncos are a 5 point home favorite and the posted total is 45. Let's quickly run down some of the finer points to consider here.

Oakland had an abysmal preseason, going 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS. This lackluster play has spilled over into the regular season, as the Raiders were beaten in their opener at Tennessee and could have easily lost to the hapless Bengals last weekend. Heading into the season, I had listed Oakland as a potential play against, as their age is certainly becoming a factor. That said, I thought the age dynamic would rear its head late in the year (which still may happen) and am certainly surprised by their slow start.

On the other hand, I had circled the Broncos as a definite frontrunner in the AFC and they have not disappointed. In fact, the Broncos trounced the Bengals in Cincinnati by 20 points and trounced the Chargers in San Diego by 24 points. It is scary to think how good they may be at home!

Some notable injury news is as follows. Denver's starting QB Jake Plummer and starting RB Clinton Portis both missed the second half of Sunday's 37-13 win over the Chargers due to injuries to their shoulder and sternum, respectively. Reports out of Denver are that the examinations of both revealed no further damage, and Head Coach Mike Shanahan expects them to be ready to play on Monday Night. Each is listed as probable.

As for the Raiders, they are the walking wounded. Oakland short yardage back Zack Crockett has a hamstring injury, but will likely play. Raiders LB Mo Collins is also probable, but may be slowed by a knee injury. Defensive tackle Dana Stubblefield is listed as questionable with an ankle injury and defensive back Rod Woodson is doubtful with a knee injury. Note also that Jerry Porter is still out with an abdominal injury and in my assessment, his absence has been a huge reason why the Raiders have struggled on offense.

All in all, Denver certainly looks like a superior football team. There is however, one item that should be noted before you run out and place a huge bet on the Broncos. The dynamics surrounding this match up are eerily similar to last year's Monday Night meeting in Denver. If you will remember, the Broncos started the season looking very strong and were 6-2 heading into their Monday Night contest with the Raiders.

Meanwhile, Oakland had started the season of with several wins, but then hit a wall. In fact, the Raiders were on a 4 game SU and ATS losing streak heading into their Monday Night Game vs. Denver. There was a truckload of SU and ATS angles in support of the Broncos. And the media and handicappers alike were spewing this information about like crazy.

In essence, it was a forgone conclusion amongst gamblers that Denver would cream the struggling men in black. Given the glaring one sided public public sentiment, I think last year will repeat itself. Give me the RAIDERS + the points. when everyone is lined up on one side of a game, and that game looks to good to be true, it usually is.

Oakland +5.5 @ Intertops
