The northeast is going to be slammed by more snow on Thursday, and that means it seems doubtful we will see the Big A running today.Just in case they do here's a couple of spot plays from:

Blue Ridge Etoile heads north from Louisiana and may be able to surprise this weak group at a decent price with a stalking style likely employed.

Battagliaspicks 1-8-3
#1 Crawford County- finished full of run in both starts here finishing 2nd and 3rd both on the turf against tougher fields. She has speed and all Bravo needs to do is hustle her to the front and never look back.

Today's Featured Race of the Day from Gulfstream Park: Courtesy of Mike Dempsey
Gulfstream Park Race 8 Alw $48,000N1X (4:43 ET)
#7 Afleet Express 3/1 #9 Latigo Storm 4/1 #2 Soaring Empire 6/1 #1 Roman Hall 10/1
#7 Afleet Express had to steady when he broke inward and bumped a foe coming out of the gate, lugged in a bit in the early going, and came with a four wide rally in the stretch but was unable to catch the gate to wire winner. The third place finisher in the race was Family Holiday, who returned to beat Alw-1 company in his next outing on Feb. 17. The $245,000 Keeneland purchase has a nice pedigree, by Afleet Alex out of a Distant View mare that also dropped a nice runner in stakes winner Reporting for Duty ($470,013). The colt put in a quick gate drill on Feb. 18 and appears to have a ton of upside potential. #9 Latigo Storm like our top pick, is also nominated to the Triple Crown. The colt was a smart looking maiden winner last out at Calder, drawing clear to win by 7 ½ lengths. The effort was flattered when the runner up Mine N Gems came back to graduate in his next outing on Jan. 23.The colt had some traffic troubles in his debut. He makes his three year old debut here for Zito, coming in with a bullet work on Feb. 19.
Wagering
WIN #7 to win at 5/2 or better. EX: 7,9 / 1,2,7,9 TRI: 7,9 / 1,2,7,9 / 1,2,3,7,9,12
Good luck today!

#2 Siberian Heart- changed riders to Espinoza after several lesser riders and in his first run on the down hill course he came flying to just miss at 32-1. He has two wins to the others one and is a great bet today.

Santa Anita Race #8 Courtesy of Ellis Starr
#5 Big Jay - Fair odds 5/2
$1 exactas: 5,9 over 2,5,9,10 (2 is The Last Boy, 9 is Jade Ruler, 10 is Devil On the Roof)
I don’t usually endorse 25K maiden claiming losers at the 25K maiden claiming level, preferring instead any horse that has yet to lose at the level, but since Big Jay was coming back from 3 months off on 2/5 when 2nd in his first route at the level I figure he’s bound to improve enough to win, particularly with a mid-pack post and just off-the-pace running style which should place him in the right spot for success at the finish.
