BEL Race 1 Clm $25,000N2L (1:00 ET) #4 Loyal Shadow 3/1 #5 Flying Sappho 7/5 #1 Z Cats Meow 5/1 #3 Market Collapse 4/1
Analysis: #4 Loyal Shadow came with a four wide rally and finished well for a close up third last out in her first start against winners, beaten 3/4 of a length for the top spot. Since the barn went to the seven-pound bug, this filly has put in her two best career efforts. She catches a weak field here.
#5 Flying Sappho checked in third last out against state bred Alw-1 company in her first start off the claim by the RRod barn. The mare was stuck behind runners and had to wait, altering course to the outside and rallied for third. This mare is now one for 25 on turf in her career and is seven years old. I'd say it is even money she earns a career top here in her second start for this barn, which is about the price she will be on the tote as well.
Wagering WIN: #4 to win at 5/2 or better. EX: 4,5 / 1,3,4,5 TRI: 4,5 / 1,3,4,5 / 1,3,4,5,7
Today's Featured Race of the Day from Belmont Park:
BEL Race 7 Md $25,000 (4:12 ET) #9 Tiz a Lily 4/1 #5 Culloden Road 5/1 #3 To the Point 5/2 #4 Mordecai Jones 12/1
Analysis: #9 Tiz a Lily made a mild late rally to finish fourth last out in her first go over turf going 7 1/2 furlongs at Del Park. She will appreciate the stretch out here as she is by Tiznow out of a Dehere mare that has dropped three winners including one turf winner. The Houghton barn picked up another win here yesterday with a shipper.
#4 Culloden Road dueled for the early lead and tired to finish sixth last out in her first go on turf. She drops in for a tag here and looks like a good fit. She is out of the stakes winner Up an Eighth ($466K) who did her best work on dirt, but has dropped a couple of turf winners.
Wagering WIN: #9 to win at 5/2 or better. EX: 5,9 / 3,4,5,9 TRI: 5,9 / 3,4,5,9 / 3,4,5,9,10
Today's Featured Race of the Day from Monmouth Park:
MTH Race 11 The Spruce Fir Handicap (5:50 ET) #5 Love That Dance 5/1 #3 Way With Words 6/5 #6 Talkin About Love 7/2 #1 Karmageddon 5/1
Analysis: #5 Love That Dance finished behind three of these last out sprinting, but that was her first go off a seven-month layoff and she should move forward off that effort and will appreciate the extra ground. She won the Md Million Oaks four back going a one-turn mile and last summer was a game second in the Spruce Fir against NJ breds going two turns. She could pull off the mild upset here over the chalk.
#3 Way With Words was a game winner of the Blue Sparkler last out against open runners and returns to the NJ bred ranks here. She won the Politely here last fall going two turns and can handle the stretch out. The mare has done her best running over the main track here, 8 of her 11 career wins coming over the main track.
Wagering WIN: #5 to win at 7/2 or better. EX: 3,5 / 1,3,5,6 TRI: 3,5 / 1,3,5,6 / 1,3,4,5,6
Live Longshots: These are price plays for exotic players looking to find a couple of extra contenders to use in their trifecta and superfecta wagers. Or for those with smaller bankrolls, you might want to get in a small win-place wager.
Monmouth Park R3: #6 Hermosillo 10/1 R4: #9 Indy's Forum 8/1 R5: #4 Cosmic dance 8/1 R6: #7 Mr. Sizzling 8/1 R6: #12 Man On the Right 12/1 R7: #7 Jo Jo Love 10/1 R8: #8 Cardashi 8/1 R10: #4 Glacier Bay 8/1
Good luck today!

Courtesy of HorsePlayerNow HOLLYWOOD RACE 5: #9 Ten's Salty Salty (3-1) Our Eyes: Found a solid late kick in that maiden breaking win last time out, and you have to like the string of works since that one. Should get pace to run into here, and this is a good field to try winners for the first time. - James Dickson (One of the best cappers I know) Join us here today! http://www.horseplayernow.com/cat/chat.html

SHANTIKA'S DREAM showed more speed last out and seems to be improving. TEN'S SALTY SALLY overcame a slow start to beat maidens. SIMPLY PUT just won at longer. Bet SHANTIKA'S DREAM (WP), Box the Exacta 3/9/4, Box the Trifecta 3/9/4/1, and Box the Superfecta 3/9/4/1 $24. (*Note: Alternates to replace any late scratches are #1 and #6).
