I'm going to Vegas on the 21st to the 27th, I need to have a better week in the NFL in week 7 when I'm there or I could come home broke. I'll be there at 8am in time for all of Sundays action at Mandalay Bay. Then it will be the Poker Room the rest of the week. Anyone on here going to be there this weekend?

I would love to be there. Where are you staying? Have you set up your poker action for the week as of yet? Ring Games or Tournaments. Let me know what your plans are and I'll suggest a few good tournaments to play.

Staying at Mandalay Bay. I'm going to play a few Tournaments and most likely 1-2 and 2-5 NL Ring Games. I'm going to play one day at the Mirage, check out the Wynn room, stay at the Bay, and try out the Luxor room. I see that Mandalay Bay and Luxor have Tournaments daily and will play one of them. Let me know what you think about Poker Rooms and Tournaments. I also had a friend tell me that the Poker Room at Ballys late at night has vacationing Fish playing there, and I love FISH players.

Wynn has a nice $140 Tournament at Noon Monday through Friday, they run it again at night only on Thursdays at 7PM.
MGM has an $80 tournament every day at 11AM and I believe they run a HORSE tournament every Tuesday night at 715PM
Mandalay Tournaments are cheap lower end type tournaments. They run 5 tournaments a day starting at 10AM for $40 then 3 and 7PM for $50 and their last tournament goes off at 9PM for $65 which they also run at 5PM.
Don't waste your time at Luxor they run $40 tournaments at 1030AM & 1230PM then at 830PM & 1130PM. There's much better choices than Luxor.
Bally's runs 3 tournaments at 11AM and 2&8PM for $55. You likely won't find much action here either.
Go play at Aria they have two $125 tournaments daily. 1&7PM. You'll find good action here, I recommend this.
Everyone loves fish players but you want to stay away from the rinky dink poker rooms. Stick with the bigger rooms and play the better tournaments. Granted the competition level is better but the prize pools are so much better and deeper. What fun is is to play in a single table tournament at Bally's or Luxor when you can play for the big cash at Wynn or Aria.
You go to Vegas for a reason so play the bigger well structured tournaments where you can play poker. If you play at those smaller rooms it's just like playing a SNG online, don't waste your time with them.

That's good info Freak. I go to Vegas once a year for March Madness and this will come in handy. We usually stay at Ballys but I pretty much stick to cash games. I've had some luck there as there are lots of fish. Ballys is a rather small poker room but sometimes the action isn't to bad. I'd go somewhere else for a tournament for sure. Aria sounds like a good one.

Thanks for the info Freak and Husker24. Husker, great run in Bad Man, I could use your great picks this Sunday and keep it up. Husker, I also go to Vegas for the start of March Madness and we stay at South Point. South Point has a nice set up for March Madness as they use there upstairs Ball rooms and put TVs all around it in sets of 4 so you can watch all the games at once. Plus they have nice big round tables to sit at. We have a group of 18 that do this so the room is handy as we can get 3 tables together. Freak, do you know if the Mirage still run at Tournament? Last time I was there they did and I believe it is at 7pm and is $110 to play and get around 70 players. I went out in 18th place with JJ against AK, I hate fucking JJ.
Again, Thanks for the information guys and good luck with your picks. If you have any more info, put it up here and I'm going to have to check out the fish at Ballys.

Mirage runs a $50 tournament everyday at 2 & 10PM as well as a $60 tournament at 11AM and 7PM with the exception of the 11AM on Saturday which is $110.
Your best bets are
Aria, Wynn, Bellagio, Caesars and MGM. I wouldn't bother with any other casinos in Vegas to play poker tournaments or cash games.

Those are great tournaments to play. That's why I was saying you want to play at the bigger places and take your shot. You aren't going to Vegas to play cheap ass tournaments you can play online any time. Granted the level of difficulty is a ton higher, however so is the pay out if you go on a run.
My best advice is not to be intimidated and just go play your game and adapt when you need to. One thing about poker is the cards hold no advantage but your brain and play do.

Freak, I play what I posted on my weekly picks, but I did play the Saints the biggest bet and the rest were all the same amount so I made money. No time to post other things but I'm on the Lions tonight +6.5.

You got the old Monday Night Back Door Cover Play to your advantage. A ton of money shifted hands once again on Monday night late in the 4th quarter.

Ay yi yi. I wish I read this way earlier. Arkansas St was the steam today. Going to need a second half monster rally. Hell we saw it last week when North Texas laid it on ULL. Then again you did this last night so it wouldn't have mattered.
Funny thing about the Detroit game, if you were on Chicago early in the week you won with -5.5 or pushed, if on them late you lost. Most people wait til game day to place a wager and often times like last night, it was too late.
Let me know how you fare in poker, I am looking forward to a detailed trip report.
Speaking of which, perhaps we can work on getting a Vegas get together for Freaks Forum members. Just an idea.

Just got back from playing poker tournament at MGM, 35 players and I went out in 4th place for $235. Best finish this week out of 4 tournaments. Lost with QQ against AQ, first card was the A. I hit and I'm chip leader, oh well, that's poker.
