Just wondering if anyone here cares about the NHL. I never see any talk about it or any picks in the Bet The House area.

Was thinking of seeing if there is a hockey expert and making them a featured capper for the season.

I am 8-2 this year so far....60-65% yearly. Happy to take a stab if u would like.

Keep it going Gray. I don't think there is much interest for the NHL anymore. At least not by the casual person. I think NHL as a whole is supported by local fans and outside of some loyal die hard fans, hockey is dead.

I am a hockey fan for sure but don't follow as closely as I once did so not as sharp as I once was. I don't wager very often anymore, usually just on a whim with the local lottery corp (parlay style) when I am putting in my weekly pool entry (NFL).

Maybe we should post picks a couple days a week, usually Tuesdays and Saturdays have a good slate of games, and see how we do.

There have been a couple people here over the years who made some picks now and then but pretty quiet otherwise so maybe we should try and liven it up.

If you have any ideas on a format feel free to suggest. We could just have a little challenge (for month of November) between ourselves for the hell of it. Maybe our 3 best picks for those days we post here?

Well, yeah. I've been seeing an uptick in hockey action this season,actually.

You are correct that the NHL is a regional game. One night recently the Boston Bruins, Providence Bruins, Brown University, Providence College, Bryant College and six high school games were all sold out.

I have no idea why the NHL expanded into Florida. They can not even fill their place half full with a really good team.

When I was a youngster there were only six NHL teams. My father had season tickets the AHL Providence entry. The level of play there was much better, in a way, then the NHL is today.

I think the warm weather cities is tough for hockey period. Florida and Arizona specifically. If you weren't raised on hockey or followed it as a youth, I would think it would be tough to get you interested as an adult.

Those areas aren't hockey hot beds and why the teams draw poorly and are in financial stress. Heck look at the Tampa Bay Rays. Just a bad location period.

Have you ever walked to that so called stadium. It is dangerous. The stadium is the worst in major OR minor sports. It is football country and I tihnk always will be only football country.

im pretty much casual NHL, maybe one or two bets a season, but i do enjoy fantasy hockey
