RobertBIrish JV Squad Joined: Jun 2001 Posts: 150 Newberry,Florida	<P>Chicago Cubs (Bere) @ Houston (Reynolds)<P> Going with the home team Astros to get the win here!<P> Bere is 8-5 on the year ERA of 3.62 and has been very impressive of late but let's look at his last 3 opponents Colorado, SD and St. Louis teams that are not exactly lighting up the batting stats, he is 2-2 lifetime against Houston ERA of 4.26, he is 0-2 against them since joining the Cubs and is 4-3 on the road ERA of 3.42. Reynolds has been good this year but he is even better against the Cubs with a 6-2 record ERA of 2.86 he has won his last 5 starts against them, his last start at Enron on 7-22 he went 7 innings giving up only 3 hits no earned runs and no walks.<P> Chicago is 14-17 as a road dog, 62-48 on grass, 28-18 at night, 31-29 on the road and 54-36 vs. righties but are only hitting them as a team with an avg. of .209 in their last 10 games. Houston is 29-25 as a home favorite, 62-49 on grass, 31-27 at home, 50-35 at night, 50-35 at night and 52-40 vs. right handers with a very solid .307 team batting average against them last 10 games.<P> Now we get to where the Astros have a very big advantage in the bullpens, Houston's has a 0.00 ERA in their last 11 innings pitched while the Cubbies bullpen has been used allot, in their last 12.2 innings they have an ERA of 7.11. <P> Right now Houston is the hotter team going 6-2 in their last 8 while the Cubs are 3-5, the Astros hitters really hit Bere well with Alou alone having a .429 avg. against him. So give me the hotter team with a pitcher that owns the Cubs and the much hotter hitters.<P>Play Houston -120
