The Rice Owls are coming off their 1st game of the season which makes this pick more attractive as they knocked off their offseason rust, and they should have no problem putting points up as they have given up 56+ points in two games this year. Grad transfer Mike Collins was able to move the ball for the Rice offense as he threw for 4 TDs and he has a proven target in Austin Trammell who has been great in recent years. The Troy Trojans are set to visit Centennial Bank Stadium in Jonesboro, Arkansas for a Sun Belt clash against the Arkansas State Red Wolves. The Troy Trojans come into this matchup with a 3-2 record, and they will be looking to rebound after dropping their recent home game against the Georgia State Panthers 36-34. QB Jacob Free had an inconsistent game through the air as he threw for 329 yards and 2 TDs while also throwing 2 interceptions. WR Reggie Todd was the top target for Free and the Trojans as he hauled in 8 catches for 130 yards and a TD.
The Troy Trojans struggled on the defensive side of the ball against the Georgia State Panthers as they allowed them to score 36 points while racking up a total of 379 yards of offense. LB Jayden McDonald led the way for the Troy defense with 16 tackles and 3 TFLs while LB Carlton Martial pitched in 15 tackles and 1 TFL. The Arkansas State Red Wolves were embarrassed in their recent game against a good Appalachian State squad, but this is still a dangerous team as they own a win over Kansas State. The Red Wolves have a two QB system going this season as Bonner and Hatcher have been even on the stat sheet, but they also have a very dangerous WR with Jonathan Adams Jr. as he has racked up 673 receiving yards and 7 TDs thus far. QB Gunnar Watson also left the game early for Troy last week which is a hit considering he has thrown for 10 TDs this season, and if he is unable to go against Arkansas State

Notre Dame News & Notes
Ian Book had his best game of the 2020 season last Saturday with 312 passing yards and three passing touchdowns in Notre Dame’s 45-3 road win over the Pittsburgh Panthers as a 10-point favorite.
The win came with yet another dominant performance from the Fighting Irish defense, which has allowed only 9.8 points and 273 yards per game. Notre Dame has allowed seven points or less in three of its five games this season.
But while the Fighting Irish have looked fantastic this season, they haven’t really been tested yet. That will change in November when Notre Dame hosts Clemson on November 7 and visits North Carolina on November 27.
Chip Kelly has already admitted that he and his team are looking ahead to Clemson, which is a natural impulse. But that game could mean a whole lot less if the Fighting Irish cough up this game to Georgia Tech on Saturday.

Georgia Tech News & Notes
Georgia Tech’s season started off on a high note with a 16-13 road win over the Florida State Seminoles as 13-point road underdogs. But since then, the Yellow Jackets have gone just 1-4 SU and ATS. The team’s defense has been torched for 46.8 points and 514.2 yards per game over the five-game slump.
True freshman quarterback Jeff Sims opened the season with an ugly 3-to-8 touchdown-to-interception ratio through his first three games, but he has since settled down and thrown five touchdowns with only two interceptions over his last three starts.
His best start of the season came earlier this month against the Louisville Cardinals when he had 249 passing yards, two passing touchdowns, 64 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown. Sims will need to be at his absolute best for the Yellow Jackets to have any chance in this one.

Indiana ended up pulling off what many would consider to be a major upset in the opening week of Big Ten action. The Hoosiers ended up beating the highly rated and very talented Penn State team. The win came in the overtime period by a 36-35 score in what ended up being a very thrilling game that seen the Hoosiers win off of a two point conversion.
Michael Penix Jr. went 19/36 for 170 yards. Penix did get a touchdown, but also threw a pick in the game as well. The rushing offense for Indiana managed to rush the ball a total of 26 times, but only managed to get 41 yards and a total of 3 touchdowns in the game. The defense for Indiana gave up 238 yards in the air and 3 touchdowns, but did pick the ball off 2 times. The rushing offense for the Hoosiers allowed a total of 250 yards and 2 touchdowns off of 52 carries.

Rutgers was able to pull off an upset in what a lot of people thought would never happen. The Scarlet Knights went to Spartan Stadium and pulled off a 38-27 win in the opening weekend of the Big Ten. The win was very impressive as it showed a resurgent Scarlet Knights offense.
Noah Vedral was the quarterback for Rutgers who handled the ball most of the time. Vedral went 18/29 for 169 yards and a touchdown, but ended up getting picked off once in the game as well. The rushing offense ended up getting 41 carries for 106 yards, but also ended up with a total of 4 touchdowns in the game. The winning effort seen the Scarlet Knights give up a total of 319 yards and 3 touchdowns, but did get a couple of picks in the game. The rushing defense for Rutgers allowed only 50 yards and no scores on a total of 39 carries.

Indiana did manage to pull out a nice win over Penn State in their last game. However, the Hoosiers ended up getting lucky with the win. Now, the Hoosiers will face a Scarlet Knights team that played good in the opening week. Look for the offense of Rutgers to play good, but the defense to step up in this game as well which should contain the Hoosiers offense

The Blazers are coming to the game here with a 4-2 record overall and ranks first in Conference USA in the West. In the last game on the field the UAB team ended up losing to the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns by a score of 24-20. The shocker was the100-yard return that the Louisiana team ended up getting to help them seal the win.
The passing attack for the UAB team ended up being decent on the season while going 104/181 for 1196 yards. The Blazers offense has ended up throwing for a total of 10 touchdowns while being picked off 7 times. The rushing offense for UAB has been able to get 229 carries for 1109 yards and a total of 12 touchdowns as a team. Defensively UAB has recorded a total of 16 sacks and 5 interceptions on the season so far.
