This might be an interesting divison<BR>1- Cleveland They have the offense back; Lofton is close to his old day, LOST Manny hurts but Juan will help out. Fryman is hurt but Branyan might be a better hitter anyway. Their pitching is questionable, Colon can be one of the best, Finley and Burba are veterans. 3 and 4 questions looks like Karsay will get a chance. Question I have will he last the whole year, rememeber he was being groomed to be next closer.<P>2- Chicago The addition of Wells helps greatly, with the experience of injuries last year a man that can take out innings is a great plus. The rest of rotation is decent if healthy but haven't been in playoff race; which they may have to battle this year. Clayton at SS helps their defense greatly compared to last year.<P>3- Detroit (my dark horse) like them more until uncertainty of Palmer at 3rd, he is dinged up a little. cedeno at lead off gives them better chances to get runs across the plate. Meluskey is better hitter than Ausmus. Comes down to T.Clark if he can have a breakout year. Their pitchers are average but if can get to bullpen they have good shot. <P>4- Kansas City R.Hernandez helps out big problem of losing games late. But too many questions on health of starters. Their offense is decent with Beltran have a great spring. they still have Sweeney, Dye. Randa.<P>5- Minnesota If they would have any offense this team would be competitive. Their starters can go toe-toe with almost anybody in this divsion. Closer Hawkins is green though. But that is not a concern because you have to score runs in order to save games. TOTAL of 66 Home Runs from last year on starting line-up. I can't believe that, just seen that going through my notes. Most teams have 66 with two guys on their team.<P>Well overview: Cleveland is hungry to return, but Chicago should not be intimidated they were there last year. Could be interesting September. Chance for wildcard.
