The Detroit Mercy Titans will travel to the BB&T Arena on Tuesday The Detroit Mercy Titans are the fifth-ranked team in the Horizon League Tournament and defeated the 12th-seeded Robert Morris Colonials 83-73 on Wednesday to advance to the quarterfinals. Detroit Mercy and Northern Kentucky have not played against each other this season. The Titans are 21-9 with a 10-6 conference record and are riding a three-game winning streak. The Norse are the fourth seed in the Horizon League with a 13-10 record and an 11-7 conference record. They are coming off a 77-71 loss to the Wright State Raiders on Feb 20 to end the regular season.
These teams have played very similar on both sides of the floor so it will be interesting to see which team can get off to an early advantage. Let’s take a deeper dive into the matchup to figure out where we should be placing our wagers.
New AD Junior guard Antoine Davis has been leading the scoring output for the Detroit Mercy Titans this season. He is averaging 24.3 points, three rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.5 steals in 38.4 minutes per game. He is shooting decently as he is 42.5 percent from the floor, 37.3 percent from three-point range, and 91.5 percent from the charity stripe. In his last game against the Colonials, Davis played 38 minutes and finished with 46 points, two rebounds, five assists, two steals, and three turnovers. He will need to figure out how to repeat this performance if they want to win here.
The Detroit Mercy Titans have been a decent defense up to this point in the season as they are giving up 74.1 points. In their last game against the Robert Morris Colonials, they allowed 73 points on 28-of-57 (49.1 percent) from the floor, 8-of-18 (44.4 percent) from beyond the arc, and 13 free-throw opportunities. If they can defend the three-point line at a better clip, they will be in a better spot here.
New AD Junior guard Trevon Faulkner has been leading the scoring output for the Northern Kentucky Norse this season. He is averaging 16.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.5 steals in 33.6 minutes per game. He is shooting decently as he is 41.1 percent from the floor, 26 percent from three-point range, and 79 percent from the free-throw line. In his last game against the Raiders, Faulkner played 33 minutes and finished with nine points, 10 rebounds, an assist, a steal, and three turnovers. He will need to figure out how to put more in the scoring column if they want to win here. The Detroit Mercy Titans have been a decent defense up to this point in the season as they are giving up 71.4 points. In their last game against the Wright State Raiders, they allowed 77 points on 27-of-62 (43.5 percent) from the floor, 7-of-21 (33.3 percent) from beyond the arc, and 21 free-throw opportu

The Indiana Hoosiers (12-12, 7-10 Big Ten) come into tonight’s game on a three game losing streak, having lost four of their last five games. One of those losses was to Michigan State (13-10, 7-10 Big Ten) 10 days ago in Bloomington. The Spartans won that matchup 78-71 behind a strong second half performance.
In that win, the Spartans scored 52 points in the second half, and the Spartan bench outscored Indiana’s 34-5. The Hoosiers hit just 21.1% from beyond the arc in the game. Aaron Henry led the Spartans with 27 points and five rebounds. Josh Langford added 14 points, six rebounds, and five assists. Gabe Brown scored 14 points and grabbed four rebounds off the bench. Trayce Jackson-Davis led the Hoosiers with 34 points and nine rebounds, while Race Thompson added 15 points and Armaan Franklin scored 13 points and grabbed five rebounds.
Since that game, Michigan State got hot. However, their last game was a dud as they dropped a 73-55 decision to Maryland. The Spartans hit just 8-of-28 three point attempts, and scored only four fast break points in the loss. Joshua Langford led Sparty with 12 points, while Aaron Henry and Joey Houser each scored 11. That trio finished the game a combined 7-of-29 from the field.
Indiana is also coming off a loss, albeit to Big Ten leader Michigan. The Hoosiers trailed by just one point 12 minutes into the game, but Michigan went on one of their patented runs to close out the first half. The game was never close after that. Aljami Durham led Indiana with 15 points, and Race Thompson added 11 points and six rebounds.
The Spartans have opened as a slight 3.5 favorite at home. This will be an interesting game as Indiana is slumping right now. However, they have the ability and the talent to get the win.
Hoosiers Look to Turn Things Around On the Road Indiana was on a roll until they ran into a disappointing loss to Michigan State 10 days ago. Since then, Indiana lost to Rutgers and then Michigan. With just the Spartans and Purdue left on the schedule, now is the time for Indiana to turn it up and get hot going into the conference tournament. They are certainly capable of doing so, and it starts tonight on the road. The Hoosiers rank fifth in points scored (70.8 ppg), seventh in field goal percent (43.4%), ninth in two point field goal percent (47.3%), and fifth in three point field goal percent (35.2%). Their attacking style has resulted in an average of 22.6 trips to the free throw line per game, which is the second most in the conference.
The Hoosiers are led 6’9 forward Trayce Jackson-Davis, who has been a tough matchup for everyone in the conference. He has averaged 19.8 ppg and 9.3 rpg, and owned Aaron Henry and Joey Houser (34 points) the last time the two teams played. Armaan Franklin has averaged 11.6 ppg and 4.2 rpg while shooting 45.0% from beyond the arc. Aljami Durham joins Jackson-Davis and Franklin in averaging double figures with 11.6 ppg while hitting 39.3% of his three point attempts.
Defensively, the Hoosiers rank 10th in the Big Ten in points allowed (73.8), 11th in opponent’s field goal percent (45.0%), eighth in opponent’s two point field goal percent (49.8%), and 14th in three point field goal percent defense (37.0%). The Hoosiers are also foul prone, allowing opponents 19.2 free throw attempts per game (9th).
Michigan State Looks To Bounce Back From Maryland Loss and Earn Sweep of Indiana The last time Michigan State faced Indiana, they were staring down a tough stretch of games. The Spartans ended up taking care of business against Indiana, then went on to defeat Illinois and Ohio State before the Maryland loss. After Indiana, all Michigan State has left is two games with Michigan, the top team in the conference.
The offense has been the biggest issue for the Spartans this season. The Spartans are 12th in the Big Ten in scoring offense (66.2 ppg), but have trended up in recent games. Michigan State is 10th in field goal percent (41.1%), 10th in two point field goal percentage (45.7%), and 12th in three point field goal percentage (31.8%). The Spartans also rank sixth in the Big 10 in trips to the free throw line (18.1). Complicating matters has been turnovers. The Spartans average 12.9 turnovers per game.
The offense is led by Aaron Henry, who has averaged 15.3 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 3.5 apg. The biggest knock on Henry is his turnovers, which he averages 3.0 per game. Big man Joey Hauser’s offensive production has tailed off as Michigan State has gotten deeper into Big 10 play. Houser is now averaging 10.2 ppg and 6.0 rebounds per game, but is a 35.4% three point shooter. Joshua Langford has averaged 9.9 ppg while shooting 36.6% from beyond the arc.
Defensively, the Spartans rank eighth in the Big Ten in points allowed (71.2 pppg), 10th in opponent’s field goal percent (43.8%), and eleventh in opponent’s two point field goal percent (50.3%). Michigan State does a good job on the perimeter, where they have limited opponents to a 30.6% shooting percentage (3rd). However, the Spartans are foul prone, allowing opponents 22.4 free throw attempts per game (most in the Big 10).

Two SEC teams will face off against each other on Tuesday as the Vanderbilt Commodores travel to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center to take on the LSU Tigers. Vanderbilt enters this game with a 7-13 record after beating Ole Miss at home by five points in its last game while LSU enters this game with a 14-8 record after losing to Arkansas on the road by eight points in its last game. This game will start at 8:30 P.M. EST.
Vanderbilt Looks For A Rare Conference Win The Vanderbilt Commodores have been struggling all season long as they have lost 13 of their first 20 games. On the bright side, Vanderbilt does enter this game on a high note after defeating Ole Miss at home by five points in its last game. In that game, Vanderbilt's offense was great as it scored 75 points while shooting 53.1% from the floor and 47.8% from the three-point line. Now, Vanderbilt will be looking for another conference victory on Tuesday. However, the Commodores have lost 11 of their first 14 conference games as they have been arguably the worst team in the SEC. Leading the way offensively for Vanderbilt this season is sophomore guard Scotty Pippen Jr. who is averaging a team-high 20.5 points per game along with a team-high 5.2 assists per game. However, he is currently dealing with a hip injury so he is questionable for this contest.
Vanderbilt's most underrated player is sophomore forward Dylan Disu who is averaging 15.0 points along with a team-high 9.2 rebounds per game. However, he suffered a serious knee injury which will cause him to miss the remainder of the regular season.
LSU Looks To Get Back On Track The LSU Tigers enter this game in a bit of a slump as they have lost each of their last two games including an eight-point road loss against the Arkansas Razorbacks in their last game. In that game, LSU's defense was terrible as it allowed 83 points while letting the opposition attempt 31 free throws. Now, LSU will be looking to get back to its winning ways with a home game up next. Luckily, the Tigers have won 10 of their first 12 home games this season as they have looked extremely comfortable at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center up to this point. Leading the Tigers offensively is freshman guard Cameron Thomas who is averaging a team-high 22.8 points per game along with 3.1 rebounds per game. However, he is also shooting just 29.9% from the three-point line as he has struggled from behind the arc.
LSU's most underrated player is junior guard Ja'Vonte Smart who is averaging 16.1 points per game along with a team-high 4.1 assists per game. In addition, he is averaging 1.2 steals per game as he has been very active on both sides of the ball up to this point.

The Kentucky Wildcats will travel to The Pavilion at Ole Miss on Tuesday night to take on the Rebels in each of their penultimate game of the regular season. This will be the only time they will meet in the regular season so they have no prior experience against each other this year, even though they are both in the SEC. The Wildcats are eighth in the SEC with an 8-14 record with a 7-8 conference record. They are coming off a 71-67 loss to the Florida Gators on Saturday. The Rebels are sixth in the SEC with a 13-10 record and an 8-8 conference record. They are coming off a road loss against Vanderbilt on Saturday 75-70.
These offenses have played very similarly throughout the regular season so it will be interesting to see which defense is able to get a few key stops down the stretch. Let’s take a deeper dive into the matchup to decide where we should be placing our wagers.
Young Blood The Kentucky Wildcats have been relying on the production out of their freshman guard Brandon Boston Jr this season. On the season he is averaging 12 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 0.2 blocks, and 1.4 steals in 30.5 minutes per game. He is struggling shooting the ball as he is 36 percent from the floor, 27.7 percent from beyond the arc, and 80.6 percent from the free-throw line. In his last game against the Gators, Boston Jr played 32 minutes and finished with 13 points, three rebounds, and one assist. If he can be more productive in this game, it will do wonders for the Wildcats in this game. The Kentucky Wildcats have been a subpar defense up to this point on the season as they are giving up 70.3 points per game. In their last game against the Florida Gators, they allowed 71 points on 25-of-48 (52.1 percent) from the floor, 7-of-15 (46.7 percent) from beyond the arc, and 16 free-throw attempts. If they can step up on the defensive end and not give shooters a good look at the basket, these numbers should fall.
Seniority Matters The Ole Miss Rebels lean a lot of the offensive focus on senior guard Devontae Shuler. He is averaging 16 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 1.6 steals in 33.2 minutes on the floor. He is shooting alright as he is 40.7 percent from the floor, 33.8 percent from beyond the arc, and 78.1 percent from the charity stripe. In his last game against the Commodores, Shuler played 37 minutes and finished with 25 points, three rebounds, two assists, and a steal. If he can figure out how to replicate this performance, it’ll be great for the Rebels.
The Ole Miss Rebels have been playing alright on the defensive side of the ball this season as they are giving up 63.9 points. In their last game against the Vanderbilt Commodores, they allowed 75 points on 26-of-49 (53.1 percent) from the floor, 11-of-23 (47.8 percent) from beyond the arc, and 18 free-throw attempts. If the Rebels can figure out how to defend open shots in this game, they will be solid here.

The #25 Wisconsin Badgers will be on the road against the #23 Purdue Boilermakers who has been giving teams in the Big Ten problems all season long. The Badgers have dropped two spots in the rankings as they lost their last game against Illinois by a score of 74-69. The Badgers are currently 16-9 on the season and will look to move up in the rankings with a win against the Boilermakers. Purdue has won their last three games by an average of 16 points per contest as they are 16-8 on the year.
The Badgers have not been as good against the odds this season as they are 11-14 ATS this season while their ability to keep games rather low in scoring has led to them posting a record of 11-14 in favor of the under. The Boilermakers have split the spread and the over/under down the middle as they are 12-12 in both departments this season.
Badgers Looking For Big Win The Wisconsin Badgers have played tough this season but the talent inside the Big Ten has gotten the better of them this year as they fall back in the rankings once again. If they are unable to pull off the win against Purdue they could very well be pushed outside of the top 25. The Badgers are not a great offensive team with only 69.8 points per game but their ability to hold teams to only 63.2 points per contest has allowed them to be successful. Their defense has held opposing teams to 27.6 first half points this season which does not help much considering they are only scoring right at 33 points in the first half. The Badgers do not give opposing teams to many chances to run the court on them as they are the best team in the country when it comes to taking care of the basketball with only 9.0 turnovers per game. The Badgers have been led by Guard D'Mitrik Trice who is producing 14.1 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game. The Badgers cannot rely on Trice to do it all if they expect to win, 5 of their 9 losses this season have came when Trice is scoring over his average and typically well over. Meaning, when Trice has to find a way to produce and take up a majority of the shots they usually lose. The Badgers have to let the baskets come naturally to him while someone else hits some shots along the way.
Purdue Catching Fire Late The Purdue Boilermakers have picked the right time to get hot as the season is coming to the end and they have splurged into the top 25 as they have moved up 5 rankings since last week. The Boilermakers have won their last three games by an average 16 point margin. Purdue plays a similar style of basketball to the Badgers but they perform just a little better on the offensive end with 70.9 points per game. Their defense is strong while they are allowing giving up 65.7 points per contest. The Boilermakers do not shoot the deep ball as well and have been giving up 8.2 made three pointers which could pose a problem as the Badgers are hitting 8.5 three's on the regular. Purdue will look to lean on their huge rebounding advantage in this one as they are grabbing 37.8 boards a game, a few of those on the offensive end could help them overcome the Badgers. The Boilermakers are led by Forward Trevion Williams who is filling up the stat book with 15.8 points and 9.0 rebounds. Not to mention he is doing that with only 25.1 minutes per game which is almost the lowest amount of minutes for any of the five starters on this team. Williams has played 30 minutes or more in only four games this season, in those games he is averaging 22.5 points while the Boilermakers have only lost once. If Williams is ready to go then the Boilermakers need to have him on the floor as much as possible as he is putting up huge numbers and could be a deciding factor against the Badgers.
