split my two unit plays and won two of three one unit plays going 3-2 (+1.10 units) last night.
two unit plays
atlanta -125 vs florida..........stictly a play on smoltz here. how often can you get smoltz at home at this price? smoltz got hammered his last time out vs the marlins, so i think he will be up for this one. he is also 10-4 career vs the marlins.
st louis -136 vs cincinnati...........cards by far the class of this divivion this year, best vs the worst right now. Marquis this year is 2-0, with a 1.26 era vs the reds. even if the cards don't pound the ball like they usually do, they won't need much with marquis on the hill today.
one unit plays
mets +105 vs phillies..................padilla has been a go against all year for me except once this year. he is due for one of his horrible outings. padilla is 0-2, 14.73 ERA vs the mets this year, so i think they pound him again tonight. all the talk is philly coming home now after the poor road trip and the great homestand before that and getting to play the last place mets. well, don't forget, this is the nl east where there is not alot of difference in the quality of teams between first and last place. about three weeks ago, the phils were the team in last place trailing by 8 games.
minnesota -120 vs detroit.............pitching matchup favors the tigers the way these guys are pitching right now, but lohse is 6-1 career vs tigers and bonderman is 0-4 career vs the twins. so i got to take a shot with the twins at home as this small a favorite.
under 7.5 (+100) florida/atlanta..............you have to consider under anytime smoltz pitches. atlanta bats have been a little weak this year and florida always has tough pitching. braves win this one 3-1.
