Both Saratoga SHOWdown and Saratoga Fantasy Challenge will begin with Opening Day for the Saratoga Meeting on Wednesday, July 27. Sign up now for SHOWdown. Fantasy Challenge signups begin Thursday at 10 a.m. EDT.

SARATOGA SHOWdown
Contestants can now sign up for Saratoga SHOWdown. The deadline to purchase $10 entries is 10 a.m. EDT on Wednesday, July 27.
The absolute deadline to make Opening Day selections for Saratoga SHOWdown is 12:45 p.m. EDT on Wednesday, July 27.
The object of SHOWdown is to select one horse to finish first, second or third on each of the 36 racedays of the 2005 Saratoga meeting (Wednesday, July 27 to Monday, Sept. 5). If successful on Day No. 1, contestants move on to Day No. 2, and so on until the contest is decided with an overall winner.
There is an entry fee of $10 for the online contest. All of the money is returned in the form of prize money. The winner will take 60 percent of the overall pot. The top 10 finishers win monetary prizes. Entry fees can only be paid online with Visa or MasterCard. Entry fees are nonrefundable.
The deadline to make each daily selection for 2005 Saratoga SHOWdown is 15 minutes prior to first race post time. Entrants who correctly select a horse to finish first, second or third are eligible to select a horse for the following raceday and continue in the contest. Entrants who fail to make a selection before the daily deadline are eliminated from the contest.

SARATOGA FANTASY CHALLENGE
Saratoga Fantasy Challenge begins with Opening Day at Saratoga on Wednesday, July 27. Sign ups for the free rotisserie-style on-line contest begin on Thursday, July 21, at 10 a.m.; to get Opening Day points fans must complete the sign-up process before 12:45 EDT on Wednesday, July 27.

Prizes total $2,950. The stable with the most accumulated points at the end of the meeting will win a $1,000 mutuel voucher. Each stable consists of three jockeys, six trainers, 10 male Thoroughbreds and 10 female Thoroughbreds. Top three finishes in races at the 2005 Saratoga meeting earn points: Jockeys are awarded points for win, place and show on a 6-4-2 scale; trainers earn points on a 10-6-4 scale; and Thoroughbreds are awarded points on a 40-25-10 scale. Grade 1 races are worth double.
There is are one substitution period from 12:01 a.m. EDT to 11:59 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, Aug. 16.
Stables that finish in the Top 50 earn a cash voucher that can be redeemed at any NYRA track. The Grand Prize winner will receive $1,000. Second gets $500; third gets $250; fourth through 10th get $100; 11th through 25th get $25; and 26th through 50th get a $5 voucher. Official Rules are available on NYRA.com.
