seattle -130 over yankees..........yankees due to lose after coming back to beat oakland. i guess they play better when their backs are against the wall. well after tonight, their backs will be against the wall again. sele is tough at home, and i really have not cared for pettitte all year. take the mariners.

supercharged's POD for October 17th, 2001 - <P>4:20 Eastern - MLB Playoffs - ALCS Game 1 - Yankees (Pettite) @ Mariners (Sele) - UNDER 8.5 +100 @ WSEX - 5 UNIT PLAY <P>Why?<P>1. Safeco was a great UNDER park during the regular season<BR>2. Playoff games are even more lower scoring than regular sked games<BR>3. Shadows affect hitters ability in afternoon games at Safeco. Pitchers benefit from this factor.<BR>4. All 3 Safeco games in the Cleveland series were UNDERS<BR>5. Sele bounces back from a bad start at home, Pettite holds true to form.<BR>6. 2 closely matched teams not wanting to give an inch in the lidlifter of what should be a classic ALCS. <P>5 Units on this one - like Quaker Oats, it's "the right thing to do". Easy way to pad your bankroll.<P><BR>
