<BR>HI FREAK<P>I NOTICED IN ANOTHER FORUM THAT THEY HAD TOTAL NUMBER OF MEMBERS POSTED AT THE TOP. THAT MIGHT BE A GOOD IDEA FREAK WHEN WE HAVE VISITORS. EVERY TIME I CHECK IN I GO TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PAGE AND WE GET ALOT OF VISITORS BUT WHY THEY DON'T SIGN UP IS BEYOND ME. I CAME LATE THE OTHER NIGHT AND THERE WERE 10 VISITORS. WHAT CAN YOU DO TO GET THEM INVOLVED?

This forum has never truly been about number of registered people and here's why....<P>A forum can have 10000 people registered but maybe a handful of regulars that post daily. That is true in every forum including here.<P>I can't force people to post, I certainly can't force them to register. Would i like them to register and take part in the forum??<P>You betcha....<P>If I don't know who they are, I can't invite them....<P>Thing is this....<P>The forum has grown since it's inception,and it will continue to grow.<P>How do we make it larger?? By word of mouth, the best thing for this forum is for it's visitors, registered members, and everyday posters to tell others. I don't advertise like the other sites, and really foster a everyday person forum.<P>That's pretty well sums it up. We are everyday people trying to get ahead, and the bottom line is we all help each other do it daily.<P>Keep doing what your doing, and I appreciate everyones help and for taking part in the forums success. for what it's worth, i run several bulletin boards and lists myself, on various subjects. i never adverstise, and i never ask anyone to join. if they're interested enough in the subject, and they're the type of people that will post on the board, they'll find it. i have no interest whatsoever in "browsers", since i'm not trying to sell anything anyway, and i accept no advertising. this board is great, and the people who care enough will get here.

Thanks for the compliment trane......<P>Like I said you don't become the best overnight, and it takes years of practice to become good at something. Unless of course your a born natural.<P>What I am really looking for is to turn this board into a wealth of information. Getting away from people just posting picks, and instead talking about the teams and the sport. Of course we will still want selections posted, but the true sports fan knows more about the game.<P>That's the direction I am looking to take. For example i do not want any baseball games predicted in the baseball thread, I want that for talking baseball.<P>I know a lot of people may not bet baseball but sure follow it. We have people from all the world, yes the world that take part in the forum. People that live near these markets have an advantage because they get home team information. That's what it is all about, who has that nagging injury, who is unhappy, what's going on in the farm system.<P>That's the kind of talk, I am looking to gear the board up to. Freak -<P>for what it's worth, i will occassionally post a pick in the POD forum. This time of year, it's going to be basketball or hockey. while i love and follow all sports, i won't even pretend to know as much as the people who are setting the lines. i could bet 1,000 NBA games, and i'm going to hit 500 and miss 500.<P>now, BASEBALL - that's another story. if i post any picks there, i'll be happy to include my full line of reasoning, since i actually HAVE one about those games...
