best bets (1-3)
strong plays (4-1)
regular plays (3-4)
opinions (4-3)
overall record (12-11)
took a pass on thursday and friday's games, kept switching back and forth, so decided not to bet. best bets are off to a lousy start, but strong plays doing well, overall a game over 500, nothing to brag about. onto saturdays games...........
some of these lines are going to be different from what they are right now. these are games i actually have money on, and some of them i have placed early in the week when i thought the line might change on me.
temple +10 over toledo (best bet)........no doubt toledo is a very good club, but favored by this many on the road vs an improved temple team is just too many points. i have seen this line has dropped to less than a touchdown now, but i got it when it first came out. toledo blasted minnesota last week, and i think the oddsmakers are reading too much into that game. you know the saying, "you are never as good or as bad as your last game". i agree with that. this has all the makings of a very good, close game, and a temple outright win would not suprise me at all.
c florida +10 over syracuse (best bet)......c florida lost at clemson last week 21-13, but they actually outgained the tigers in total yards, mistakes hurt them. syracuse is no longer the tough place to play like it used to be, it cerainly is not as tough as playing at clemson. the orangemen have no play at the qb position at all, they suck! this is a dead even game in my eyes with the only advantage syracuse has is being at home, but i don't think that is worth 9 points. like the temple game above, an outright win would not shock me.
s carolina -2 over georgia (strong play)......s carolina had an excellent team last year, and they have their qb plus 17 starters returning. there is no reason to expect that they won't be stronger this time around. georgia is just a shadow of what they used to be. they are living in the past. even at georgia, s carolina should be closer to a touchdown favorite in this game.
notre dame +14 over nebraska (strong play)....got this one in early in the week too thinking it would definitely drop below 14. irish have their qb back and 8 offensive starters, i think they can score on nebraska, not alot, but enough to cover. my gut just tells me notre dame will find a way to keep this close.
west virginia -5.5 over ohio (regular play)........i feel this line is too low. if it were at ohio is would be right. w virginia is not as bad as people think. i think their defense wins this game. ohio not a bad team but they are not going into w virginia and beat them. w virginia is simply the better team, at home, and laying less than a touchdown. i am on it.
new mexico +12.5 over texas tech (regular play)......new mexico suprised people last week with a win over utep. i feel they have confidence going to texas tech and can keep this one close. new mexico has always had decent offense, and their defense seems to be vastly imroved this year. i have never been a big texas tech fan, especially as a favorite.
stanford -5.5 over boston college (regular play).....who wouldn't take boston college plus points after how good they looked last week? that is why i am going the other way. i look for stanford by at least ten points.
fresno st +4 over wisconsin (opinion).......hot team plus more than a fg.
washington -2.5 over michigan (opinion).....not impressed with michigan.
pitt -21.5 over s florida (opinion)......total mismatch.
