best bets (2-0)<BR>strong plays (1-1)<BR>regular plays (2-0)<BR>opinions (0-2)<P>overall (5-3)<P>not too bad a start for opening week, hitting both best bets and coming out on the plus side overall. i like some games this week, but with recent events, hard to say how teams will play.<P>minnesota -3 over chicago (best bet).....i am not going to read too much into vikes opening day loss. more than likely they will bounce back and pound the pathetic bears. <P>miami pick over oakland (best bet).....revenge!! i think that the layoff from last week will help the dolphins. there will be no let down now after a week off from the tragedy. they have marked the calendar after last years playoff shutout, and they now have an offense to match their great defense. i think miami wins this one easier than most people think.<P>atlanta -3.5 over carloina (strong play)....once again, i am not going to read too much into that opening week. carolina no where near the team that you saw beat minnesota. atlanta is respectable at home and should win this game. the line tells you this......why would carolina be a dog at atlanta after going into minnesota and beating them outright???? i will tell you why..because they are going to lose.<P>indianapolis -10 over buffalo (strong play)....this has blow out written all over it. it may take until the second half, but colts by 17 to 31 points!!!<P>san diego -3.5 over dallas (regular play)....can't believe i am taking san diego as a road favorite after last years horrible season. lucky for them, dallas is worse.<P>philly -3 over seattle (regular play)....should be a great game. eagles need this win as they do not want to start 0-2. they have a ton of talent and will win this game by a touchdown.<P>kansas city +1 over giants (opinion)....money on giants as kc opened as a 1.5 point favorite. kc still very tough at home, especially as a home dog. i see a defensive struggle, with alot of field goals and the chiefs coming out on top this week. they should have won last week, but will get their first win this week.<P>cincinnati +7 over baltimore (opinion)....my gut just tells me cincy gets the cover here. baltimore squeeks by again.<P>new england +2 over jets (opinion)....have not seen alot of people picking the pats this week, for that reason, i will.

Ok so this is supposed to be week 2 not week 3, but the topic was up before they decided all this.<P><BR>I am offering a little 13 pt teaser for today's viewing pleasure.<P>The 13 pt teaser requires you to make 4 picks and lay odds 13-10 at Betworld, 7-5 at others....<P>Oakland +14......... The raiders simply won't get beat by 14, and I like them SU<P>MN + 9 1/2 over Chicago..... Just call it insurance just in case. Chicago played Baltimore tough, and these two normally play close gamea.<P>SD +9 1/2 over Dallas....... I like SD SU, but the Cowboys were pesky with Tampa. SD beat a below average team, and well this is a road game. Call it insurance, the cowboys won't beat anyone by 2 scores this year.<P>Indy +3 over Buffalo..... September 23, 2001Denver (1-0) -7.5<BR>Arizona (0-0)<P> The Cardinals will play their season opener when they host the <BR>Denver Broncos tonight.<P> Arizona, who had a bye in the first week of the season, has not <BR>played a game since an exhibition tilt on August 30th.<P> Arizona, is expected to be worse on defense than they were a year <BR>ago when they finished next to last in total defense. They lost the <BR>services of Pro Bowler Aneas Williams, and pass rushing threat Simeon <BR>Rice. The Cardinals finished with a 3-13 record last season, and I don't<BR>expected to do much better this year.<P> Arizona does have Jake Plummer, along with the possible the best <BR>receiver trio in the NFL. Even with this offense threat, the poor defense <BR>will often prove too much for them to overcome.<P> The Broncos rolled up an impressive 473 yards of offense in their <BR>season opening 31-20 victory over the Giants. Griese was suberb in that <BR>opening game going 21-29 for 330 yards and three TD's. Davis, who <BR>rushed for 101 yards, will miss the next four to six weeks after surgery <BR>to repair a small cartilage tear in his knee. No worries though for <BR>Denver as Mike Anderson, who had 1500 yards and 15 TD's in his rookie <BR>season, will start against the Cardinals.<P> The Broncos did suffer when Ed McCaffrey broke his leg, but once <BR>again they will replce him with a talent. Eddie Kennison, a pure <BR>speedster, will line up with Rod Smith as the wideouts.<P> With the problems for the Cardinals on defense so apparent, the <BR>fact they beefed their offensive line won't really matter that much. <BR>Denver will use the ground game to soften them up, and then throw deep <BR>to rip the heart out of this Cardinals team.
