Im a real stats guy. I work on my computer(my best handicapping tool) all the time looking for an edge.<P> I think I found one that Id like to share with you for my first post at this site.<P> Carolina-Washington total 36.<P> When I factor totals for a game, I usually look at average first downs made in a game. This stat can tell me how consistent an offence can be moving the ball and a very good indication on the flow of the game. Is it 3 and out and punt? Or is it fast flowing, up and down 400 yards per team?<P> You know which teams have the worst first down\avg in the NFL? You guessed it, Carolina and Washington both averaging around 10\per game. This game will be ugly and slow similiar to Wash\Dallas on MNF.<P> Also, Chris Wenke missed practice today and there is a chance he wont start sunday. His back-up is some stiff who has never thrown a ball in the NFL.<P> Take the under in this game and take a few uppers if you are going to watch it.<P> Good luck

In my post I stated this stat will give me a feel for the flow of the game. I am making an educated guess.<P> Again, when predicting O\U, turnovers,injuries and weather are relative but not predictable. Gold sheet (not a subscriber) cant tell me that.<P> The O\U opened at 37, its dropped to 35. These teams are a combined 2-7-1 O\U. Wenkie is hobbling around on one leg. Please give me a reason this game will go over because I cant see it.
