and line just crept up a 1/2 a point

my power rankings, which i do not trust fully until after the week 8 game is played has Cincy on top

but pitt does come in at #2

cincy pitt indy

like i said i dont fully trust them yet but have been able to ride undervalued superbowl winners in multiple games based on the system, notably Baltimore Ravens and the St. Louis Rams in their championship years

i'll be excited to see them ahead again at the end of today right now my numbers show them as 4 point favorites over the pittsburgh steelers

The main issue with this game in my (and many others') mind is that Cincinnati's opponents have not been at all strong. While Pittsburgh lost to two tough teams.

opponent strength is definitely a factor but i think it gets too much attention at times.... not saying this is one of them.....i just think its definitely one to dissect the box score afterward........cincy giving up almost 5 yards per carry is what i wonder about, but the pass defense has been great so i just think they have a chance to level out with the same effectiveness

They don't match up with the Steelers at all. Pittsburgh likes to run the ball more than anyone in the NFL, and they are only going to pass the ball in favorable situations.
Throw in the fact that Pittsburgh is the most dominant divisional road team in the NFL, and the fact that Roethlisberger is 9-0 in his career away from home, and has never lost to anyone except NE, and I like the Steelers.

Good discussion, that's what the forum is all about. Keep em coming.

You did list Cincy, pit, indy

So it would appear the cin/pit was scratched and you cashed with Indy

dont know if anyone payed any attention to this but the numbers had pittsburgh pegged pretty early on as i said the winner of the first cincy/pittsburgh game would probably be the nfl's elite..............

hopefully i'll post next seasons super bowl winner again before or by week 8

speaking of strength of schedule is there any doubt as to who the better team is in the Super Bowl?

I love Pittsburg in the big game this week. I've been listening to the talk shows this week. The media is trying to convince us that the game will be close but I dont see how it will be. The way I see it is Seattle got lucky to win a couple games at home on missed chip shot field goals vs, Dallas and NY Giants. They played in a weak division for more easy wins. They then parlayed all of this luck into home field advantage in the playoffs where they rolled over 2 medicore teams. The Steelers meanwhile took down the 3 top seeds in the much tougher AFC all on the road and made it look easy. I'm not saying Seattle sucks or nothing like that But the 'hawks are for sure outclassed in this game.

final score :

Pittsburg 34 Seattle 17 <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
