I was at the TV taping for Smackdown, and after Angle and company cut Big Shows hair, they left the ring.
Paramedics came out to take out Big Show, but magically he came through, and shoved them away. He stumbled out of the ring and into the back.
Then all of a sudden Eddie comes to, and gets in the ring, and calls out Angle. Angle comes back out and tells the others to stay in the back.
He comes out and they tangle for a few moments, and Eddie gets the upper hand, does a frog splash and leaves.
Angles gets up a few minutes later and then he walks out.
It was a disappointing show for a 5th anniversary. No balloons, confetti, anything really special.
I did get to watch this Carlito guy, and he is a samoan wanna be. He sucks, he beat Shannon Moore but it was a bad match.
I did notice they fixed Teddy Longs flub when he was talking old school in the ring, he messed up his line, and they edited it and redid it.
The Undertaker was cool as always, and actually one of my two favorite spots. I like Booker T, I wish he would have been able to do his catch phrase all the way.
Now they hyped this show like the Rock, Stone Cold, Hogan and Vince would be there. All taped segments. Hogan was in Cali, Rock in Florida, SC in Texas, who knows where Vince was at...
Very disappointing. They opened the doors 1/2 hr before the show, and did the taping for Velocity first.
Two thumbs down, and that is harsh from me.

Almost forgot, I was on TV all night, I was 6 rows back center ring. It was quite comical watching it, and seeing myself. A few times they focused right in on me.
Funny stuff, and I didn't want to broadcast it, as I didn't know what they would show of the FREAK going crazy lol !!

Would be interested to see, lol.
WWE? When did they go to that? I have not followed Wrestling in ages, literally! I used to be majorly into WWF. That is the same right? Why did they change the name?
Believe it or not, my mother is the one that got me interested, lmao. I can remember when I was maybe 14 going to a match with her for the first time. When we watched it at home, she was always relatively quiet. THEN, we get to this match and the calm, church-going, mother that I knew, starts jumping up and down.....screaming her head off "Get em Jake, bring out the snake...." and some very colorful things that I better not post, lmao! OMG! I was in total SHOCK for a week after that one, and oh so VERY thankful that none of my friends witnessed it.
Last match I went to was at The Richfield Coliseum, if I remember correctly, think it was at the end of 1988. It was about a month after my mom had passed away, but she had already gotten us tickets. Survivor Series!!! Well, I figured that my mother woulda wanted me to go, so I gave her ticket to a friend of mine. We couldn't find a ride, we were 15, and didn't drive, so what do rebellious teens do????? We snuck outta my Grandparents house where I was living (temporaily), and we hitched a ride with a semi-truck driver.....OMG, some of the crap I did as a teen, lucky I never got myself in deep trouble. Then we had to hitch a ride home as well, of course.
Anyway, in those days the big names in wrestling were "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, Greg "the hammer" Valentine, Jake "the snake" Roberts, Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Macho Man Randy Savage, Brutus "the barber" Beefcake, Honky Tonk Man and Rickey Steamboat.
Are any of these guys still in it?????
Memories, lol. Wow.....I haven't thought about all of that in like 10 - 12 years. I wonder if my 9 year old son, or heck even my daughter would enjoy going to see a wrestling match? LOL! It could be fun, and then with roles reversed, lmao.....I wonder how they would react to my screaming and jumping up and down, lol....Could be a lot of fun to find out! [ September 26, 2004, 11:21 PM: Message edited by: freebird_73 ]

Of course I have a tape of it... and no you aren't getting it !!
As for the names you mentioned, most have passed away, and none of the ones alive wrestle anymore.
WWF was sued over the name, by the World Wild Life charity and the WWF lost and changed it's name to WWE.
That was a few years ago, so when you see old footage, they blank out anything that says WWF.
Rather funny if you ask me.

But, that's okay, I am sure If I REALLY want to, I can find someone around my area that taped the event, lmao! Why not give us a hint, what are you wearing on the tape so we know it's you........let me guess.......ummmmm, an Oakland Raiders T-Shirt and Jeans???? Hmmmmmmmmmm.
Now, I KNOW I am not that OLD, only 31 years VERY YOUNG, so those wrestlers must have been old, if not ancient to begin with, lol.
A lawsuit over initials, how rediculous! There are other corporations that share initials I am sure, and do not make a fuss over it.
