Maryland (-14.5) vs. Wisky.<p>Home crowd advantage...tougher game than expected vs. Siena on Friday. They'll be focused and sharp and will dominate on the boards. Wilcox and Baxter will be too much for them...throw in Blake and Dixon in the backcourt. <p>They key to knocking Wisky off early will be containing that New Zealander Penney, it will be up to Mouten to contain him.<p>Good luck everyone. Seavik you may be correct, if MD is to win this game they'll have to dominate the boards. Badgers are extreemly young which in many cases may not be a bad thing. (they don't know there not supposed to be here) True Wisky doesn't play flashy style ball nor do they have any big hitters, but these young guns know how to play together and certainly won't be intimidated.<p>
A true "Contrarian Play"...<p>Remember Wisky was picked to finish dead last in the big 10 this season. To that all they did was get a share of the big 10 title this season. <p>First year coach Bo Ryan has got this team doing things that they do best. Wisky was the only team to beat every other team in the Big Ten this season.<p>Whisky was 4-1 against all the other Big Ten teams (4) that made the big dance, yet they are still seeded below them...(less MSU)<p>Wisky snapped Michigan State's 52 game home winning streak, and beat Indiana for the first time in 25 years on Indys home court this season.<p>True Wisky must contain Baxter and Wilcox..
Wills, Mader, and Wilkinson will have their hands full and they must turn in a huge defensive effort for Wisconsin to win but Md. also has to step up their premiter defense.
Wisky's swing offense, if on, can be deadly from beyond the arc and the high low game. Md. hasn't exactly played great perimiter D this season and is suspect in that area.
I'm expecting Kirk Penney to have a huge game today, not only w/the tree but driving and dishing as well. Keep an eye on this fella.<p>Wisky is in just about every game they play. Of all their losses only one was by more than 12 (Illinois blew'm out 1/23, built a 23pt 1st half lead and didn't look back).<p>Suspect reason for the large # is home court advantage for Maryland. (and of course the high public perception on Md).<p>Think this one is the easiest one on the board today. As long as Wisky doesn't try to run with Md., and do what they do best (boring ball control, grind it slow it down) we're going to get yet another thrilling finish.<p>Can't pass up the 6.5 to 1 odds for the outright, but 14' is (IMHO) a gift for Wisky backers if you've got no balls. <p>Best of luck to ya.
