San Antonio Spurs - Brooklyn Nets+3.5
My pick : Nets +3.5 (-105)
A game between two of the weaker teams in the league.
Both suffered double-digit losses in the last round against stronger opponents. The Spurs are at home, but the difference now is that they are without their star, Wemby. Although they still have Fox, the Nets, on the other hand, are finally getting back to full strength after a long time.
With Cam Thomas, their top scorer, returning after a long absence, along with players who have been in and out of the lineup like Russell, Johnson, Claxton, Williams, and others, they suddenly have a lot more tools at their disposal (though without Clowney).
On the other side, the Spurs still have their young talents—Castle, Sushan, Vassell, Johnson, and company—along with experienced players like Poeltl and Barnes. However, defensively, they are not quite there yet. Even at home, they have suffered many losses.
The Nets, despite struggling on the road, have managed to pull off surprises here and there, sometimes even beating teams at their level or better, or at least keeping games close. With their available roster and an X-factor like Martin, I believe they can at least cover the spread.
