Houston Texans -1.5

The Texans are 1-3 but are coming off their best game of the year, and all three of their losses were close. Roquan Smith and Marlon Humphrey likely out Sunday. Lamar Jackson is out 2-3 weeks and stud LT Ronnie Stanley is also banged up. Houston's stagnant run game finally got going last week with rookie Marks, which should open things up for CJ Stroud and the passing attack.

Taking NYY (-1) (-122) and SEA (+115)...strictly zig zag theory. 2nd round last year had the losing teams in game 1 win in game 2. These are the best 8 teams playing. Also like the over in both games today as I think these low numbers have value (3 of 4 went over yesterday). Round 2 next day game 2's both went over last year.

I like the Giants with the addition of Jaxson Dart and Cam Skattebo now starting. Dart gives them that scrambling aspect that was missing with Russell Westbrook and Cam can get the running game going. The Saints defense give up 30.3 points per game ranked 30th and I think the Giants can put up some points today.

What are the reasons for each? Please give reasons.

Baltimore +1.5

Lamar is out and I like betting on the backup QB and usually find value there. Cooper Rush has done it before with the Cowboys. I think they go back to feeding Henry which is a good thing. I do worry about the Balti defense. Houston has not been world beaters and looked better last week, but that was against Tenn. I think Baltimore gets the win at home.

Fading the public here. Giants without Nabers means they will need to generate more offense with their run. Skattebo is great, but Giants OL is not - 25th in adjusted line YPC and 25th in stuff rate. Add in the fact that the rookie Dart is still ironing out wrinkles, and we have a case for the Saints. Taking them ML. 2/5 confidence rating. BOL

Cincinnati Bengals +10.5. The Bengals got destroyed last week, but this one is at home. Browning has shown himself to be a capable NFL quarterback, and I'm sure they got their offensive line disaster addressed compared to last week. They won't win, but they should keep this close.
