The Hurricanes look to wrap things up tonight @ home against the Edmonton Oilers. Home ice has been strong for Carolina all season long (40-10-3-0). Tonight, Edmonton must again face the young Cam Ward who will be between the pipes for Carolina. All he has done is post a 1.76 Goal Against Avg. through the first four games. While the Oilers have struggled since the loss of goalie Roloson with a knee injury early in this series. Edmonton has also struggled on the offensive end and their power play has been bad, and I do mean BAD (1 for 25).
Carolina though up 3-1 in these finals, know that a loss tonight would be huge. They do not want to head back to Edmonton with a 3-2 advantage where the Oilers would have a chance to tie things up on home ice. I look for a focused Hurricane squad to take it to the Oilers tonight and walk away with the title.
Teams leading 3-1 in the Finals have gone on to win the Cup 26 of 27 times. Edmonton will not have an answer for the Canes tonight.
