second losing day in a row for my "goofy system", but i am ok with that. last time i tried this i think i lost three days in a row and then went back to my normal way of thinking and lost a bunch again to put me over 40 units down for the year, so i don't care, i am sticking with this the rest of the year.
phillies +107 vs baltimore, game one (3 units)..........phillies continue to find ways to lose games. baltimore playing decent ball and this kid pitching for them is supposed to be pretty good. phils don't hit lefties very well either. maybe cole hamels has been brought up a little too early. he has really struggled with his control and not been the pitcher people thought, including myself. i really don't have a single reason to take the philllies tonight, so that is why i am taking them. i took them yesterday, so why not again today.
this next play is only a play if the phillies win game one.
baltimore -139 vs phillies, game two (3 units)............i hope this is not a mistake, but i am going back to my old way of thinking, but just for this game. they way the phillies have struggled, there is no way they sweep this double header. they are going against benson, and if i recall the phillies could never hit benson, even when he played for the pirates. plus the phils have this Mathieson throwing and i think he gets lit up.
mets +100 vs boston (3 units).....i lost with the mets yesterday and will try them again today. boston is just playing great baseball right now, how can you go against them. they are getting pretty good pitching and have been knocking the cover off the ball. you got becket pitching and they are only a small favorite at home. even with pedro pitching for the mets, boston should continue to roll. i always lose games like this, better go the other way.
houston +153 vs detroit (2 units)..............wow, detroit just beats the almight roger clemens. they still have the best records in the bigs and are at home. if they beat clemens, they should have no problem today. this just about sounds like a lock too. you know the rest.....give me the astros.
florida -149 vs tampa bay (2 units).........wow, the great interleague team of tampa bay lost again. you know there is no way, i repeat, no way they lose again. it is just not possible. they do not lose to national league teams. wait a minute.......i guess its possible.....i will take the fish in this one.
as usual my two one unit plays will be teams that appear to not have much a chance to win.
pittsburgh +152 vs white sox............pirates just cannot win a game lately and getting the world champs does not help.
dodgers +257 vs minnesota.......minny just red hot and got their ace pitching. dodgers don't have a chance.
both minny and sox just should not lose today, but you know one of them will.
