The Astros have the second-best offense in baseball with a 124 wRC+, while the Cleveland Guardians check in at exactly league average with a 100 wRC+. That gap matters late in a game when both starters are likely on short leashes; Parker Messick takes the hill after 112 pitches Thursday, while Weiss hasn’t gone more than 3 2/3 frames. Back the better bats in this one.

Cleveland just has the edge everywhere that matters tonight. Parker Messick has been lights out (3-0, 1.05 ERA, 0.78 WHIP) while Ryan Weiss has struggled (6.75 ERA, 2.05 WHIP). Houston is also just 1-9 on the road compared to Cleveland at 7-3 at home. Better pitcher, better spot, I’m backing the Guardians here.

The Mets start Nolan McLean who’s is 1-1 with 2.28 ERA. The Twins bullpen showed their issues again the Reds this weekend and now with a poor starting pitcher will be in try.
