I’m backing the Yankees because Cam Schlittler has looked like a legitimate ace so far, entering this matchup at 5-1 with a 1.35 ERA and 59 strikeouts while holding opponents to a .176 average. Clay Holmes has been excellent for the Mets too with a 1.86 ERA through eight starts, but this still feels like a tough spot facing perhaps the deepest lineup he’s seen all season. The Yankees are 27-17 and still profile as the more complete team, while the Mets are just 18-25 despite playing better baseball lately.
