This looks like one of those tight, low-scoring games where every run is going to matter with José Soriano and Casey Mize both pitching at a high level right now. Soriano enters with a 2.44 ERA and has been excellent at limiting hard contact, while Mize has matched him almost pitch for pitch with a 2.47 ERA and strong command numbers of his own. Detroit’s offense has been inconsistent lately, and the Angels still struggle to string together quality at-bats against steady right-handed pitching. With two starters capable of working deep into the game and both bullpens in decent shape, this feels more like a 3-2 or 4-2 type matchup than a shootout.
