It's been a few years, and I have missed the adreniline rush the contest provides.
For those that have not entered before, it's a great way to make the whole season exciting, regardless what happens with your own wagers throughout the season. The side pot gives you a chance to save face when your so far behind halfway through the season. Been there, done that, and won enough to cover the bad man fee for current year and the next.
Have been near the top for 3/4 of the season, only to fade late... Very humbling... And one entrant in particular used to bust my balls with his posts and comments. Seen it happen to others as well. Also have seen guys crush it, with their picks, week after week and wonder why they are so lucky... It's wasn't luck.
I am 'just a guy' who loves a good challenge, especially when it is sport related. I love the NHL, but nothing is better than NFL to be able to test ones skills against other people who probably have a lot more intimate knowledge of the teams and the weekly matchups. When I check the standings the next day, and see myself in top 5, it feels great, When I go the wrong way and end up with a donut, after being mocked by a previous member, I could hang my hat as they say, on the fact the next week I could go 5-0, win the side pot, and feel vindicated.
Don't get me wrong,I am in this to win the title, it would be a great bragging right, and would be my own greatest sport achievement, as this contest requires stamina, perseverance, and skill. Luck might get you a 5-0 side pot win oçasionally, but winning Bad Man, that is a hell of a f'ing achievement and I want to be Bad Man Champion this year.
