Hurricanes ML. I love this Canes team and the system they've had in place for the last couple of years. I think it's telling that they are a favorite in this series and expect a good defensive effort against the Caps tonight.

Donovan Mitchell had a tough night, and the defense allowed too many open looks.
Injuries to Evan Mobley, Darius Garland, and De’Andre Hunter added to their challenges.
Cleveland has the talent to do better and needs to respond with intensity in Game 2.
Expect improvements in perimeter defense and rebounding. Mitchell won’t stay cold for long, and Mobley and Jarrett Allen should make an impact.
If the Cavs play smart and push the pace, they should bounce back and cover the -7.5 spread.

Being the 1 seed in the east and losing game 1 in this series puts a lot of pressure to win this series thus playing hard for game 2. I expect a focused Cavs team especially on the defensive side of the ball. In game 1 the Pacers hit 19/36 3 pointers. I expect the defense to crowd them and hopefully see that % drop significantly. I think if the Cavs start well and leading by double digits in the 2H the Pacers will mail it in and be satisfied with splitting the games on the road.

At this point Indiana looks like the better offensive team, surprisingly. Garland's toe injury is a key reason. Looking at the injury report, is it possible Cleveland could be without 2 All-Stars in an incredibly important Game 2? They'll probably win but I doubt it will be comfortably.

Phillies F5 Innings (-125)

Zack Wheeler has been pitching well of late. Rasmussen has been the exact opposite giving up 7 ER in his last 10 innings. It bodes well for the Philllies to start this one out better than the Rays who are just 9-13 at the crappy rental home.
